Osprey Lodge is on the fringe of the northern part of the Lake District National Park and set within a small campsite. This detached lodge looks across open meadows and towards the Solway Coast. The lodge has been presented to a very good standard, with an open plan living space with large comfortable sofa and wood burner, a kitchen area with everything you should need, including a dishwasher, and a choice of whether to dine inside or al fresco on the balcony to take in the views. The double bedroom has a comfortable kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room. Recline in the bubbling waters of the hot tub, unwind in front of the warm fire or lie down on the sumptuous bed, whatever you choose, you will enjoy your stay.
The grounds of Wallace Lane Farm extend to unspoilt 23 acres of meadows and stunning views, perfect to take an evening stroll or early morning walk before breakfast. Nearby Calbeck Fells are famous for adventure and beauty, whilst a little further and you are in the Lake District town of Keswick, a haven for walkers and shoppers alike. The Solway Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, overlooking the Scottish hills, and is perfect for bird spotting or enjoying an ice cream. Beach 17 miles. Shop and restaurant 5 miles, pub 5½ miles.

My partner and I stayed here as a last minute booking for Christmas. Although only there for a couple of days we could fault nothing. The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. Hot tub and log burner gave it the added touch. Location is idyllic with lots of walks close by. We had a little walk with the alpacas on Christmas Day. We have a camper van and plan on coming back to one of their free standing pitches with hot tubs!

We arrived at the lodge and its a lovely little place. However, we had a masive isue with dog hair all over the sides, floor, sofa and even in the bed. We let the owner and the manager know, but the owner was an incredibly rude man who disagreed with everything we said. We wanted to go home and have a partial refund but he called us ridiculous for that and started talking about profits and costs of cleaning. (it hadnt been cleaned!) For what its worth, the manager Emma was absolutely lovely and tried her best to help us, recleaned the lodge etc but we left a night early entirely because of the owners disgusting attitude and rudenes. Aside from the hair, the place was nice enough, it just wasnt a nice experience for us due to the hostility and attitude of the man. The place also isnt as private and secluded as the pictures make out, your balcony is overlooking the campsite and right on the main path/very close to other lodges, so pictures need updating.

Me & my partner wanted to explore the Lake District also wanted to chill in a nice place which is feels like home. It was a dog friendly place so we could take our pup with us, that was great! The lodge was beautiful & cosy, the hot tub was a fun & we could reach beautiful places by car. Absolutely happy & recommend everyone to stay!
