We stayed in the Ullswater lodge for 1 week with my elderly mother. This was not the lodge I had originally booked but that was because the lodge I had booked had some technical issues with it. I lodge we stayed was really lovely. It is a very new lodge and was tastefully decorated. This was a hot tub lodge also which overlooked the fields to the back. We had our own parking space out front. This area is still being built so there are no “onsite” facilities and there is still building work going on, however it was very peaceful area albeit the wind was howling at times. I would like to see more in the ways of coat hangers being provided for the massive wardrobes, and extra blankets for the bed at night would make the bedroom even cosier! I wasn’t keen on the weird male portraits overlooking the beds in the twin room, was a bit creepy in my opinion. Maybe a neutral animal picture or landscape would be better. The en-suite and main bathroom was roomy and my mum loved the walk in shower, I loved the deep bathtub for soaking in the evenings. It had free WiFi and a smart TV so we had plenty of entertainment. The kitchen was high spec and the coffee machine was a brilliant touch. We even had a welcome pack with milk, eggs, bread rolls and Prosecco, washing up items and coffee tea etc, which was great a we arrived quite late in the evening checking in. I would highly recommend and would love to come back and see the area once it has been finished being built up. We managed to travel all around the Lake District over the course of the week, most places were a hours drive for us. Thank you to Joe as well checking us in late on Friday evening.
