One of the best places we have found. Superb well-equipped unfussy accommodation. Lovely warm welcome from the hosts and most thoughtful and useful welcome basket. Great view towards Alston and if you are as lucky as we were with the weather, great to sit on the upstairs balcony ( although it only really gets the sun for the first half of the morning). Enjoy the peace and quiet as well as the wildlife. We aim to return.

We stayed here for 4 nights in June. The hosts Jon & Jane are lovely people and very welcoming. The location is absolutely stunning and the property itself is perfect for 2 people (and a dog!). It is very spacious and well equipped, they really have thought of everything! If you're after a relaxing break with far reaching countryside views then certainly give The Old Buttress a look, we will definitely be returning soon!
