Outside there are extensive grounds and gardens to enjoy with plenty of wildlife to enjoy with kingfishers, dippers and possibly otters. The quaint market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland is just 5 miles away. The town sits on the banks of River Eden and has a cobbled high street which leads up to Appleby Castle. The Settle to Carlisle railway line also runs from here so why not hop on board and enjoy the beautiful scenery from the comforts of your railway carriage?
