Dent is famous for its rich history, superb walks and stunning scenery. The Dales Way, an 85 mile rambling route running up to Bowness-on-Windermere in the Lake District from Ilkley in West Yorkshire, cuts through the village and draws many walkers to the area. The cottage is located on the outskirts of the village but within walking distance. Step back in time when visiting Dent, with its narrow, cobbled main street, white-walled cottages, ancient village church, cafés and pubs. Set in a deep, narrow valley, Dent, in Cumbria, is one of the loveliest villages in Dentdale. As well as being home to part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Dent is only 15 miles from the Lake District National Park. There are miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore. The Pennine Cycleway passes through Dent on its 350-mile route between Derby and Berwick-upon-Tweed, and there are also some excellent local loops that explore the countryside around the village. The picturesque River Dee is nearby with lovely riverside walks and fishing on offer.

I could live here. The view from the lounge was superb. It was so comfortable and everything we needed was on hand. The weather was mostly good and the village of Dent was an easy walk down but the upwards climb was hard work.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Ivy Cottage which is set in a quiet picturesque location. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with everything you need, we slept so well in the big comfy bed. I would definitely recommend this cottage and we're hoping for a return visit next year.
