Guests say

Knott View is a well-received cottage in a scenic and peaceful location, offering easy access to the Dales and Lake District. Guests praise the friendly owners, cosy atmosphere, and beautiful views. The property is well-equipped for a comfortable stay, with good walking areas nearby and a charming market town within reach. While some minor issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests planning to return.

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy. However, one review mentioned concerns about COVID-safety and cleanliness of kitchen equipment, which suggests room for improvement in ensuring thorough cleaning between stays.

The location is highly praised for its beauty, tranquility, and proximity to both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The nearby town of Sedbergh adds to the charm with its amenities and bookshops.

Guests describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with a homely feel. There is a mention of a mattress lacking support, which indicates that while comfort is generally high, there could be some improvements.

The cottage is considered well-equipped by most, but there are comments about inadequate lounge seating for four adults and unsuitable ironing equipment. Additionally, some guests experienced issues with the Wi-Fi.

While the reviews reflect the owners' warm hospitality, there is no specific mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Sedbergh, pronounced Sed-Ber by locals, is an ancient market town in northern Dentdale, situated just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town itself is full of narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs and boasts a famous school dating back to 1536. Its 12th century church has an olde worlde atmosphere and is also well worth visiting when looking to discover the town's history. Dentdale is often described as the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales and offers rolling hills and dry stone walls, whilst 14 miles away is the windswept moor of Whernside – the place where the rivers Dee and Rawthey converge. At the centre of the dale is the settlement of Dent, also packed with picturesque cobbled streets – some of which have existed since Norman times. There are three golf courses in the vicinity as well as tennis, riding, and fishing facilities. For those who prefer a peaceful day rambling through the countryside, the area is a walker's paradise.
