Eden House in Cumbria is a well-loved cottage, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and excellent facilities including a hot tub and sauna. The property's kitchen is highly regarded for being well-equipped, and the presence of farm animals adds charm. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive with many guests looking forward to returning.
Guests generally find Eden House clean and well-presented, with only a few isolated incidents of cleanliness concerns such as finding socks under a bed or broken glass on the floor. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is frequently described as beautiful, with easy access to walks and the beach, and a short drive to Ulverston. The tranquil setting and proximity to Scafell Pike are appreciated, although some guests noted difficulty finding the property in the dark.
The majority of guests find the beds comfortable and the property spacious. However, some guests experienced issues with heating and uncomfortable sofas, which affects the overall comfort score.
Facilities like the hot tub, sauna, and kitchen are highlights, but some maintenance issues such as non-working radiators, missing toilet rolls, and a non-functional dishwasher have been reported. The presence of a games room and ample parking are positives.
While some guests mentioned a lack of welcome packs and the need for more thoughtful provisioning, such as additional toilet rolls and wood for the sauna, there is not enough information to determine if gifts are a regular occurrence. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such amenities will be provided.

Set in beautiful, mature parkland overlooking Morecambe Bay, this Bardsea cottage provides an ideal base for families and groups of friends to get together and enjoy the beautiful Furness Peninsula and its attractions. There is a spacious sitting room in this Bardsea cottage, with an adjoining conservatory/summer room and doors to a private garden. There is also a spacious master bedroom with en-suite shower room; a further five well laid-out bedrooms and an unusual first floor farmhouse-style kitchen with large table and a small wooden balcony area.

The festival town of Ulverston is just one mile away from this cottage in Bardsea, with its many pubs, restaurants and bi-weekly market, while the sandy beaches of the Furness coast, and Coniston, with its mountain biking, climbing and watersports are just a short drive away.
An excellent holiday base with a touch of luxury. Note: This property is in the grounds of Ref. 918339, together they sleep 39.
Positioned on a hill overlooking Morecambe Bay is the small village of Bardsea. This remote settlement grew from a small fishing village and farming area to become a major transportation link for coal, iron ore and corn. Today, Bardsea still retains its fishing heritage, and features two pubs, both of which serve fine ales and good food. The village itself is located close to Furness Abbey, whilst the market town of Ulverston is just two miles away, and maintains its street market tradition, hosting one every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year. Ulverston is also the location for many festivals including an amazing lantern procession in November and a Dickensian weekend in early December. With all the attractions of the Lake District National Park within easy driving distance, and the sandy beaches of the Furness coast close by, this peaceful spot has plenty to offer.

The bedrooms were spacious and the garden was also fantastic and had a lot to offer. With the addition of a hot tub and sauna, it really made our long weekend an amazing stay and we all had a brilliant time, not to mention the little piglets! The only small feedback I would offer is that there could be some basics added to the property, like tea and coffee, salt and pepper and some cleaning products, so we can make the place tidy before we leave. Other than that, the cooking facilities were amazing, especially for larger groups and we really did have the best time!

I certainly would recommend Eden house to friends and family! The only negative feedback is that we would have appreciated more toilet rolls being provided. Especially considering the fact that our group included 3 children.

Everything you could possibly need. I would say we did need to go to Booths and purchase more logs for the sauna which delayed our enjoyment but that's a minor issue. There are parts that need attention, for eg cup marks on the dressers, scuff marks etc but nothing that reduced our enjoyment. Eden Lodge looks fab, we might save up for a return visit there.
