Primrose Cottage in Cumbria & The Lake District offers a delightful stay with its tastefully renovated interiors, comfortable beds, and a well-equipped kitchen. Guests have enjoyed the added luxury of a hot tub and the property's proximity to local attractions. While some guests faced issues with maintenance and privacy, the majority found the cottage to be a cosy and welcoming retreat.
Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-presented. However, there were instances of food debris on dishes and pans covered in grease, which suggests room for improvement in the cleaning standards.
The location is appreciated for its lovely views and proximity to the town of Ulverston and local attractions. Some guests noted the risk of speeding traffic nearby, but overall the location was well-received.
Guests praised the comfortable beds and the cosy atmosphere of the cottage. Despite some reports of heating issues, the overall sentiment regarding comfort was positive.
The facilities, including the hot tub and log fire, were highlights for many guests. However, maintenance issues such as non-working heating, problematic showers, and lack of response to complaints affected the score.
While guests were generally pleased with the amenities provided, there were no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness category.

Situated on the coast, across from Morecambe Bay is the small village of Aldingham. Local folklore says that the village was once a mile long and that many of the cottages were washed away. Aldingham also has a reputation as a smuggler's village, the perpetrators hiding brandy from France and tobacco from America within the church crypt. The village itself is close to Furness Abbey as well as the ancient market town of Ulverston, just five miles away. Ulverston boasts a street market every Thursday and Saturday, in addition to many festivals throughout the year. These include an amazing lantern procession in November and an atmospheric Dickensian weekend in early December. The town is also the birthplace of Stan Laurel, famous for his work with Oliver Hardy, and as such is home to the only museum dedicated to this double act in the world. With all the attractions of the Lake District National Park and the sandy beaches of the Furness Coast, this quiet and peaceful area has plenty to offer!

We did have no heating and no hot water for nearly 2 days but the maintenance guy was brilliant been there all night trying to fix it , bringing us plug in heaters and more wood, was also offered to use the caravan park 5 mins away for showers. Only mentioning it has the owner came across rude and just said go home we will give you your money back. (Which 3 young kids on Xmas Eve) was not ideal. So to the maintenance man you was fab!!! These things happen and an apology from the maintenance man was all we needed and he looked after us very well! We visited the lakes zoo, was okay but it is closing in the new year. Day out and Windermere to visit Peter rabbit museum which was fabulous. Hot tub was fab too nice and clean.

Nice hot tub which is emptied after every guest stay. Like home from home. Beds are really comfy, bathroom beautifully equipped with roll top bath and gorgeous shower. Kitchen well equipped. Steps are a little steep at the front, just in case you have trouble with steps. I would recommend this property and would happily stay there again. Thank you.
