Mishmash Cottage in Carnforth offers stunning views and a tranquil setting, ideal for relaxation and enjoying the scenery. Guests appreciate the property's excellent location and the comfort of the beds, with some mentioning a well-equipped kitchen and a selection of books. The outdoor space is safe for children and perfect for watching sunsets.
Several guests reported issues with cleanliness, including dust, webs, dirty crockery, and a foul-smelling settee. However, some guests found the apartment clean, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised for its amazing views, peacefulness, and proximity to Arnside promenade. The setting is described as gorgeous and tranquil, contributing to a lovely stay.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the apartment cosy when heated. However, some furniture is described as uncomfortable, and there is a lack of storage space in the second bedroom.
Facilities and maintenance issues are a common concern, with non-working radiators, lack of wardrobe space, and maintenance needs in the bathrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped for some, but others found it lacking.
Guests mention a lack of basic supplies and a minimal welcome pack, which suggests room for improvement in hospitality. While some guests received a welcome pack, it is not guaranteed and varies in content.

Of the many holiday houses and cottages we have rented over 40 years, this one was without question the most disappointing. The location is wonderful, but the property, the facilities and your administration leave a lot to be desired. It started badly when your e-mail of 13/05 told us that the flat was in Carnforth (we knew it wasn't). We should have taken that as a warning. When we got there we found the key as instructed, but the entrance to the flat is via an external lobby, which has to be accessed via an electronic key-pad. You failed to send us the code for that, so we were totally stuck. Fortunately after nearly two hours, one of the residents in an adjacent flat returned home and showed us how to gain access to the lobby. But then the flat door simply wouldn't open when we unlocked it, and again with his help and considerable force we managed to turn the door knob, and got in. (The door knob and catch need some WD40. We just jammed it open for the duration of the stay.)There are several other things that need fixing:1. The patio doors out from the main bedroom onto the patio are rotten at the bottom and held together with strong tape. We didn't try to open them.2. The handle on the bottom bolt on the patio doors out from the main room to the front of the property is missing, so that they were initially very difficult to open. We solved it but putting a small piece of cooking foil in the hole to stop the bottom bolt from engaging (we removed the foil before we left).3. The facilities provided leave a lot to be desired. The oven was dirty, the fridge needs de-frosting and cleaning, and the dishwasher filter was disgusting (we cleaned it)4. Then kitchen facilities lack some rudimentary basics. There is no teapot, cheese grater, lemon squeezer, or small pan. The wine glasses are stupidly huge (so we bought some sensible plastic picnic one). The 'sharp' knives are hopelessly blunt and there is no knife sharpener. 5. The general instruction book provided is out of date in places, and seriously lacking in others. There are no instructions for the Television, Dishwasher or Hob & Oven. We managed with difficulty.6. Unlike virtually all the other holiday homes we have rented there was no welcome pack with a few basics such as bread, milk, maybe some cake and often a bottle of wine. At least TELL people there won't be one.Just as well the weather was wonderful, but we won't be going there or using you again.

Thermostat on 9C. Excellent location and accommodation. However, the apartment was feezing when we arrived. Outside temperature was about 9C... exactly the same as the inside of the apartment. The thermostat was actually set at 9C. How anyone thinks that is acceptable is beyond my comprehension. It took nearly 12 hours to get the apartment to a reasonable temperature. The other point I would like to mention is that the front door key had a fob on it to open the door, why is this not mentioned in the information. It took us nearly 30 minutes to figure out how to open the front door with the code supplied for the keysafe. Not impresed !!!
