Guests say

Mishmash Cottage in Carnforth offers stunning views and a tranquil setting, ideal for relaxation and enjoying the scenery. Guests appreciate the property's excellent location and the comfort of the beds, with some mentioning a well-equipped kitchen and a selection of books. The outdoor space is safe for children and perfect for watching sunsets.

Several guests reported issues with cleanliness, including dust, webs, dirty crockery, and a foul-smelling settee. However, some guests found the apartment clean, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its amazing views, peacefulness, and proximity to Arnside promenade. The setting is described as gorgeous and tranquil, contributing to a lovely stay.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the apartment cosy when heated. However, some furniture is described as uncomfortable, and there is a lack of storage space in the second bedroom.

Facilities and maintenance issues are a common concern, with non-working radiators, lack of wardrobe space, and maintenance needs in the bathrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped for some, but others found it lacking.

Guests mention a lack of basic supplies and a minimal welcome pack, which suggests room for improvement in hospitality. While some guests received a welcome pack, it is not guaranteed and varies in content.

Thermostat on 9C. Excellent location and accommodation. However, the apartment was feezing when we arrived. Outside temperature was about 9C... exactly the same as the inside of the apartment. The thermostat was actually set at 9C. How anyone thinks that is acceptable is beyond my comprehension. It took nearly 12 hours to get the apartment to a reasonable temperature. The other point I would like to mention is that the front door key had a fob on it to open the door, why is this not mentioned in the information. It took us nearly 30 minutes to figure out how to open the front door with the code supplied for the keysafe. Not impresed !!!

Sorry in advance for this lengthy review Even though the apartment was grand with beautiful high ceilings and some fitted furniture it wasn't the luxury we were expecting. It was very disappointing in most areas of this place some brought up in previous reviews which still haven't been rectified. If I'd have seen these reviews before I had booked I wouldn't have come here.People need to be aware that this owner is not bothered about putting things right.Still no working radiator or extractor in the ensuite making it damp with grouting getting discoloured no working extractor in the bathroom. Plaster covering a switch in main bedroom probably put there by a concerned guest. No wardrobe space in spare room and limited space in main wardrobe because it is filled with squashed in spare duvets. Drawers had games and hairdryer in.Settee had a foul smell like urine coming from it even after a wipe down. The cleaning was not great, dust webs galore, corners at all the windows were filthy and clothes were left behind some radiators which I left (sorry) not my job, looked like they'd been there ages.Cupboards in the kitchen could be better organised, it only needs 6 of plates, cups and glasses to make room for food storage, there were too many.I could go on more but it's such a shame it could be magical. No excuses for what's wrong here. Thanks for reading. Hope it helps others
