About this property

Forest of Bowland AONB. Bentham 2.9 miles. Lanshaw House, a three-bedroom detached house in Lowgill Lancashire is the perfect place for a family or group of friends to enjoy the countryside and get an authentic taste of England. Enjoying views of the countryside and off-road parking, you'll be able to get out into nature whenever you like and take in the scenery from the comfort of the property's own patio area. Arriving at the cottage, four steps up lead you into the kitchen/diner, home to an AGA cooker, a dishwasher, a window seat, and dining seating for the whole family. Character features continue through the property and into the sitting room, which is furnished with a TV and a woodburning stove. Finishing off the ground floor is a handy space with a washing machine and tumble dryer where you can freshen up your clothes, and a ground-floor shower room, fitted with a walk-in shower. Make your way upstairs, where you will find another bathroom with a freestanding bath and a walk-in shower, perfect for a long soak after a day of walking. When it's time to rest, the first and second bedrooms are magnificent super-king rooms with zip and link beds, which means you can sleep how you want - whether together or apart, while the third bedroom is a snug single room with a beautiful outlook of the countryside. Outside, enjoy the garden which has a gravelled area and a picnic bench that provides a serene and restful atmosphere. The convenient location of the property means you are central to Lancashire, Cumbria, and the Yorkshire Dales National Park; but if you want to stay more local, the nearby Bentham is a picturesque town home to the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, which is a popular attraction for tourists; the trail is a four-mile loop that takes hikers through some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area. Further afield, Morecambe rests on the Lancashire coast, located on the estuary of the River Lune and is bounded to the north by the Cumbrian mountains. The town was once a thriving seaside resort and is now a popular tourist destination with attractions including Lancaster Castle, Happy Mount Park, and Lancaster City Museum. If you want a day of walking, bookended with a delicious meal in a country pub, be sure to spend a day in the glorious Yorkshire Dales National Park. Lanshaw House is a beautifully presented property for a memorable break with loved ones.

This lovely town is split into High Bentham and Low Bentham by the River Wenning, just west of the Yorkshire Dales and north of the Forest of Bowland. The town's 19th-century agricultural show features handicraft, horticulture, and livestock competitions. The annual Carnival and funfair feature workshops, music, and fundraising events. High Bentham has pubs and restaurants, and its train station is on the Leeds-to-Morecambe line.

The house is beautifully decorated with stunning views and a lovely interior. The location seems remote but is within easy access of Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale, Settle and many other places. We got the opportunity to meet some of the lambs and our children adored playing with Pip and Dot- the farm dogs. They have already been asking when we are going back- a real hit with the whole family.

The property is beautifully appointed and cosy, hosts (and resident farm animals) all very welcoming, stunning sunsets looking out to the Lake District and great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Lakes. Would love to return.
