The Crumbly Lancashire Cheese Trail also passes by the site and follows the River Wyre and historic canal. Spanning over 271 acres of woodland, moorland and farmland, Beacon Fell Country Park, 5.5 miles away, is brimming with wildlife and views of the Forest of Bowland and Morecambe Bay. A National Landscape, the Forest of Bowland, 17.5 miles away, provides even more scenic landscapes to explore. The centre of the village of Catterall (1.5 miles) provides a great insight into countryside life.
