Hidden down a private farm track in the middle of the Forest of Bowland, Boococks Barn offers a truly unique and special stay. Set in 8½ acres of its own land, you’ll feel like the only people in the world when you stay here, with your only neighbours being the local highland cattle, deer and hares lolloping through the meadows. The feeling of being secluded in its own acres is magnified by its self-sufficiency; ground sourced heat warming the two floors on individual room dials, spring water from the private borehole and a Swedish hot tub, fired by locally sourced wood. It’s an ultimate get away from it all. Every aspect of this beautiful barn conversion has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of the scenic surroundings. The 180 degree view from the barn has to seen to be believed and is revealed descending the track to the property. It starts at Whernside in the Yorkshire Dales, followed by the contour of Ingleborough, capped in the southern extreme by Pendle Hill. To the back of the barn a large, light filled kitchen with a dining table in the centre is the perfect focal point to sit and chat over dinner. There is a double bedroom and shower room which is ideally located close to the garden so you can hop in and out of the hot tub. Upstairs, there are a further three bedrooms, two of which are kingsize, plus an en-suite showeroom and a family bathroom. The pièce de résistance is the living room, which takes up the front of the barn with a magnificent two storey window showcasing uninterrupted views over the Ribble Valley and Yorkshire Dales from both floors. The main living area is divided into two by a lavish double sided fireplace creating a bright and open social space and a cosy nook which is perfect for snuggling up with a book. Outside, the owners have installed an eco friendly, Swedish wood fired hot tub nestled in a corner of the garden which is perfectly positioned to make the most of the gorgeous vistas from sunrise through to sunset. You’ll also find a pizza oven and hand built firepit to cosy up next to while you gaze at the stars on a balmy summers evening.
Set on the border of Lancashire and Yorkshire, with two National Parks at your doorstep, there is an abundance of things to do in this amazing area. The bustling market town of Settle, in the Yorkshire Dales, is close by with an array of local independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants together with a railway covering the famous Settle to Carlisle line, passing over the majestic Ribblehead Viaduct. Just further on from there you will reach the Yorkshire three peaks, which you can even spot from the property, they are great fun to walk individually or take on all three at once for a 26-mile long challenge. Gisburn Forest can be reached within 10 minutes offering miles and miles of fantastic walking and cycling as well as Stocks Reservoir, a former sunken village, which has incredible fishing and a diverse range of wildlife. Other country pursuits like horse riding, mountain biking and clay pigeon shooting are available locally. If you prefer more of a relaxing afternoon head to Coniston Hotel and Spa for an afternoon of pampering and indulge in a sumptuous meal in one of the three local Michelin star restaurants. Or simply enjoy peace and tranquillity from this one-of-a-kind, hidden gem.
There is a seasonal pond in the grounds 30 yards from the property.
