About this property

Leek 5.5 miles. Tucked away in the quaint, rural village of Heaton, near Leek, Staffordshire, rests this delightful, three-bedroom holiday home, Hawksbridge Bungalow. Enjoying stunning countryside views and a wealth of tasteful furnishings, this property is ideal for families or groups of friends sharing, seeking a relaxing, self-catered escape to the edge of the Peak District National Park. Step into your new home-away-from-home and be charmed by a variety of well-presented living spaces, including a well-equipped kitchen where the designated chef can conjure up tasty, home-cooked meals to be enjoyed around the dining table or sat in the ambient sitting room, complete with its very own TV and centrepiece wood burning stove. When the evening grows darker, soak your muscles in a rejuvenating bath before retiring to one of three well-appointed bedrooms, each waiting to transport you to a night of refreshing slumber. After you've enjoyed taking in gorgeous views of the surrounding rolling hills as you finish your morning coffee in the tranquil front garden, venture from your lodgings to explore your local area by taking a walk through the lush greenways of Ladderedge Country Park, make the short car journey to the National Trust landmark spot of Biddulph Grange Garden, or make your way into the neighbouring Peak District National Park, where the picture-perfect locations of Lud's Church, The Roaches and the Hanging Stone can all be found. On your way back to your new home, be sure to stop for a well-deserved pint at The Knot Inn in Rushton Spencer before sitting down for dinner at The Napoli or Pabna in nearby Leek. All of this and more await you and your loved ones during a stay at Hawksbridge Bungalow.

On the western side of The Peaks, the hillside market town of Leek—also known as "The Queen of the Moorlands"—is surrounded by beautiful Moorland scenery. The town's lovely cobblestone market square and numerous instances of magnificent Victorian architecture, many of which bear William Morris' influence, serve as a reminder of the prosperity the area experienced when it was known as a centre for the production of silk. Currently, Leek has a large variety of stores, including enormous antique stores, as well as a considerable number of restaurants, a neighbourhood park, recreational opportunities, and real ale pubs. Leek is adjacent to Gawsworth Hall, Buxton Opera House, and Three Shires Head, where the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire converge. It is also a short drive from Alton Towers.

We are 70 and 78 booked it because looks tranquill and after bereavement and daughter in laws stroke was looking forward to meeting our son and his wife for us all to have a quiet time.we were subjected to noise from 5am one morning to late at night just constant noise tractors farm vehicles all day for whole of week .it doesn't mention in sykes listing of next to a very busy noisy intrusive farm no pictures show the farm and the mess is awful rusting farm machinery tractors outside your bedroom window.if we had known all this we wouldn't have booked it. We have all come home spending all that money and as pensioners wanting a peaceful holiday with our son and wife this we did not get just constant noise from morning till night .we are very upset and feel nearly 500 to turn up to that is disgusting and certainly false advertising it should state what to expect.glynis
