The Old Weighbridge will really make you smile! It is an amazing little place providing quirky, railway themed accommodation but so much more as well. It's just a short walk into Bakewell, Derbyshire's most famous market town. It's got off street parking which is pretty rare. It's got secure storage for bikes and, to top it all, it's just a stone's throw from the Monsal Trail if you fancy peddling off across the Peaks.

If you wander down into Bakewell there are lots of country-style shops, supermarkets restaurants and pub galore. We always seem to end up sitting by the river with our fish and chips, sharing our 'Bakewell Pudding' with the ducks as they swim by, browsing around all the interesting individual shops and spotting the bistro menus ready for an evening meal.

With many of Derbyshire's holiday attractions like Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall so close to Bakewell you ought to plan a trip or two to the quieter parts of the Peak. Marvel at the well-dressings in villages like Tideswell, cycle over Monsal viaduct and drink in the view or wonder if you can really believe your eyes as you look out from Curbar Edge over wave after wave of Peak District hills.

Cottage facilities:

An attractive one-room living/bedroom/kitchen area. The comfy sofa converts easily into a good sized double bed. There is a T.V, DVD and Freeview. The galley kitchen has a two ring hob, microwave and small fridge. The little dining table and chairs are really neat. There is a sparkling little shower room with shower and W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Under floor heating and power are included. There is a stone flagged patio with pots, plants and seating. Parking for one car is available next to the cottage. There is secure storage for bikes. Pets and smoking are not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be possible. Please ask for details.

Weekly bookings are normally from Friday to Friday but short breaks are available throughout the year. Bookings for Christmas and New Year are from Sunday to Sunday.
