Box Tree Cottage is a superb cottage with its lovely decor, luxurious furnishings, glowing log burning stove and wonderful setting on the hill above Matlock. Hidden away in the garden of the18 century Wellfield House it provides a great holiday retreat in one of the most peaceful parts of this attractive market town.

The quality of the cottage is only matched by its views out between the trees and down over the Derwent Valley. Just to relax on the patio with an evening drink and gaze across to High Tor is an experience you will remember for ever. Then set off along the hillside to the many local pubs or down into town to the great cosmopolitan Stones, Mazzi Indian or Thai restaurants.

When you sit on the patio remember to pinch yourself to get back to reality because there is so much more to see and do. Matlock Bath's 'little Switzerland' gorge, Peak Rail's steam trains, Crich's tramway museum and  the Derwent Valley World Heritage Corridor are all gathered around the town. The Peak Distrist's myriad of other holiday attractions, including Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, is to be found in the surrounding hills!

Cottage facilities: 

A superb open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. The lounge with its painting and print speckled walls, iconic sofas and chairs, T.V., DVD, Freeview and Wi Fi , glowing log burning stove and patio doors to the terrace is just amazing. The adjoining dining area with its quality table and chairs is similarly incredible. The fully fitted kitchen area has a cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher together with  an automatic washer and freezer in garage. A very attractive bedroom has a king-size bed (zipped together twins) and an adjoining bathroom with bath/shower over and W.C. A separate very spacious bedroom, with its own entrance is just along the terrace , no interconnecting door, with similar king-size bed (zipped together twins), sitting area with T.V., and lovely shower room with shower and W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, power and an initial supply of fuel for the stove are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is an attractive patio with furniture. Gated secure parking for three cars is available. Pets and smoking are not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be possible. Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas & New Year.
