Shepherds Cottage is an utterly wonderful cottage. Its Farrow and Ball style decoration, sumptuous furnishings and fittings, stone flagged floors and glowing log burning stoves combine to make this a superb holiday retreat. When the cottage also has beautifully crisp bed linen and really fluffy towels you know that it is somewhere very special! In the sleepy little hamlet of Whitehough close to the Old Hall Inn you are also treated to free daily breakfasts in the pub which is just a stone's throw away!
Whitehough is in the very heart of the Peak District National Park in a cauldron of beautiful Derbyshire hills. Have breakfast in the Old Hall before wandering down into thriving Chinley village or exploring the Bugsworth Basin on the nearby Peak Forest Canal. Save a few afternoons to visit Castleton with its Blue John Caverns, Peveril's storm the battlements castle, the Derwent Valley 'Dambuster' dams or the plague village of Eyam.
But remember that there are lots of other attractions within easy reach - Buxton with its famous Opera House, Bakewell's award-winning Monday market, Peak Rail's steam trains or historic Haddon Hall. Chatsworth House with its gardens, farmyard and wild adventure playground is another absolute must!
