This pretty thatched holiday cottage nestles in a secluded location on the edge of the New Forest, with lovely views over field and woodland from the verandah. Adjoining the owner’s home, it serves as a haven for wildlife lovers; countryside walks radiate from the property offering plenty of opportunities for spotting the animals and birds resident in the area. A short drive away are the characterful resorts of Christchurch, Bournemouth and Lymington (departure point for Isle of Wight crossings), for beaches and boating. The Beaulieu Motor Museum is well worth an outing, as is the New Forest, for museum and pony trekking. Shop 1 mile.

The cottage is comfortable and well-equipped for two people. The upstairs bedroom is under a sloping roof which is not ideal for tall people. The location is excellent, in the New Forest and 10 mins from Christchurch.

Lovely welcome from our host Sam. The accommodation was very cosy, we felt ‘at home’ straightaway. Well equipped, very clean and comfortable. The birds feeding in the garden was a lovely addition to our day. We had two woodpeckers on the feeder at the same time- magic! Would definitely recommend Heathfield Lodge to friends and hope to go back again ourselves.
