Situated less than 5 miles from the city of Brighton, with all its exciting attractions like Palace Pier which is a Grade II* listed pleasure pier located in the city centre opposite the Old Steine. This is opposite the Brighton Aquarium which is the oldest operating aquarium in the world. Over 5,500 marine creatures on display, including sharks, piranhas and delicate seahorses. Just a stone throw away is the famous Lanes, once the hub of the old fishing town Brighthelmstone, it is a lively neighbourhood packed with upmarket restaurants, quaint tea rooms, and traditional pubs serving real ale. At its heart lies a warren of narrow, twisting alleyways filled with independent jewellers and tiny, high end antiques shops and designer boutique clothes shops. The Old Police Cells Museum, in the Town Hall’s basement, offers free tours of a 200-year-old underground jail.

The Theatre Royal Brighton is one of the oldest and most distinguished theatres in the country and is located right next to The Royal Pavilion. The Royal Pavilion, also known as the Brighton Pavilion, is a Grade I listed former royal residence. Beginning in 1787, it was built in three stages as a seaside retreat for George, Prince of Wales, who became the Prince Regent in 1811, and King George IV in 1820. It is built in the Indo-Saracenic style prevalent in India for most of the 19th century. The current appearance of the Pavilion, with its domes and minarets, is the work of architect John Nash, who extended the building starting in 1815. Nightlife in Brighton happens in a variety of venues from big name acts at the Brighton Centre and Brighton Dome to intimate gigs in churches and pubs, such as Mrs Fitzherbert’s. There are live music events most nights of the week with opportunities to see the biggest stars of today or to try and spot the next big thing. With some much to do just a short journey away, The Barn is the perfect place to stay and relax and enjoy to home comforts after a busy day sightseeing and day tripping in Brighton. Beach 220 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
