Guests say

Endeavour Cottage in Hastings, Sussex, is highly praised for its cleanliness, charming location, and the warm hospitality of hosts Di and Chas. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, cosy woodburning stove, and the enclosed garden that is perfect for dogs. The property offers a peaceful retreat with a private woodland, and is conveniently located near a pub and scenic walking paths. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is delightful and guests frequently express a desire to return.

The cottage consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'spotlessly clean' and 'beautifully clean'. This indicates a well-maintained property that guests find very satisfactory in terms of hygiene.

The location is frequently described as peaceful and quiet, with an enclosed garden and private woodland that are highly valued by dog owners. Its proximity to a friendly local pub and the ease of access to nearby towns like Rye and Hastings contribute to its high rating.

Guests find the beds very comfortable and the woodburning stove adds to the cosy atmosphere. However, some guests mention that the lounge chairs could be more comfortable and that the property can get cold if the heating is not maintained, slightly lowering the score.

The cottage is praised for being well-equipped and providing amenities like a washing machine and ample logs for the burner. However, there are comments about the need for better water pressure and heating, suggesting room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

While the reviews consistently mention the helpfulness and friendliness of the hosts, there is no specific mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would fall under this category. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

The gardens around the property was very nice and our dog Winnie had plenty of room to have a play with her ball. Our host Di welcomed us to her property, was very helpful even helped us with our luggage etc which was really nice. Di showed you around Endevour and made us feel welcome. There is a lovely pub (Three Oaks) just 5 minutes walk away where we found the food to be very good and very reasonably priced well worth a visit. The shops and supermarkets weren't too far away even Hastings town was only 5 miles from us. All in all we had a lovely stay at a super location.

The cottage was very comfortable, clean and tidy and had everything we needed to make out stay a pleasure. It is heated with a beautiful wood burner and Di was pleased to give us a lesson in how to light it, after which we were able to keep the cottage snug for the week. Goldie our border collie loved the garden and her walks in the beautiful bluebell woods which are part of the property. The property is near the end of a lane and so there is hardly any traffic which makes it safe to walk a dog up the lane and onto a footpath across fields for a walk. There are lots of things to do in the local area and we had no problem filling out days. Di was a lovely, helpful and friendly host who made our stay one we will remember. Many thanks.

Very friendly host great having a log fire & plenty of wood for it, parking near to cottage in the grounds of cottage. Certainty dog friendly plenty of area to run off lead & on lead in woods, just a shame the grass around cottage wasn't cut wasn't easy to clean up in longer grass,
