The Cart Lodge offers a peaceful and relaxing countryside retreat, much loved for its beautiful views, friendly hosts, and the charming presence of sheep just outside the door. Guests consistently praise the well-equipped cottage, tranquil setting, and easy access to local attractions. While most reviews highlight comfort and cleanliness, a few mention areas that could benefit from a refresh. Overall, the property is highly recommended for those seeking a quiet getaway in a picturesque location.
Most guests found the property clean and comfortable, with fresh towels and bedding. However, a minority noted dust, spider webs, and some areas needing a deeper clean, which slightly lowers the score.
The location is frequently praised for its peacefulness, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions and beaches, making it ideal for a relaxing break.
Guests describe the cottage as cosy, comfortable, warm, and spacious enough for families. A few mention minor issues with space in the second bedroom, but overall comfort is rated highly.
The cottage is well equipped with self-catering essentials and has two bathrooms. Some guests noted maintenance issues such as worn rugs, minor bathroom repairs, and the absence of advertised Sky TV, but most found everything needed for a pleasant stay.
Hosts are described as friendly and welcoming, often providing helpful local information. Several guests mention thoughtful touches such as a welcome pack and biscuits for the sheep, though these gestures are not guaranteed for every stay.
