Guests say

The Old Thatch is a charming, characterful cottage offering a cosy and well-equipped stay, with a spacious garden ideal for dogs and families. Guests appreciate its traditional features, comfortable beds, and convenient access to local shops and the coast. While the cottage is situated on a busy road, it remains peaceful inside and in the garden. Some minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance were noted, but most guests found it homely and relaxing. Occasional welcome gifts have delighted visitors, though these are not always provided.

Most guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, though several mentioned issues such as dust, cobwebs, crumbs, and pet hair. One review reported a significant cleanliness problem, but this was an outlier and resolved by the owner. Overall, cleanliness is generally good but can be inconsistent.

The cottage is praised for its proximity to the coast, local shops, and attractions. However, its position on a busy, sometimes noisy road and a challenging driveway are frequently mentioned. Despite this, guests found it a convenient base for exploring the area.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as cosy, comfortable, and homely, with good beds and a peaceful atmosphere inside. Some mention low door frames and a need for a more powerful shower, but overall comfort is a highlight.

The cottage is well-equipped with a large kitchen, modern appliances, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, and a spacious garden. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as the shower and wardrobe doors, but most guests found the facilities met or exceeded expectations.

Several guests appreciated welcome packs, festive decorations, and thoughtful touches, though some noted these are not always as pictured or guaranteed. The owner is described as friendly and responsive, adding to the positive experience.

The Old Thatch is a beautiful and cozy cottage. "Mind your head" because of low door frames. That said, the cottage is located in a residential area on a fairly busy road. Inside and in the back of the large garden, you won’t be bothered by it.

We really liked the character of this beautiful cottage. There was lots of room and it was nice for our two dogs to be in the surrounded garden. The garden was lovely and full of flowers. We spent 3 nights here
