This beautiful country property borders the grounds of a 200-year-old Grade II* listed windmill, the landmark that gives the village of Windmill Hill its name. The windmill has been carefully restored with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund, other donors, and a team of dedicated volunteers. It is now an operating windmill, open to the public most Sunday afternoons from Easter to September. House guests can visit the mill at other times by prior arrangement. Entry is free but the Windmill Hill Windmill Trust relies on donations to ensure the continued maintenance of the mill.
Windmill Barn has an enclosed garden to enjoy in the summer and has the benefit of private parking. During the winter you can curl up in front of the wood burner after a brisk walk through the surrounding countryside.
The property resides on some of the highest ground for miles around, and is set within ‘1066 Country’, overlooking the Pevensey Levels National Nature Reserve, beyond which is the English Channel. Visit the seaside town of Eastbourne, notable for its high sunshine levels and holder of the record of the highest amount of sunshine in a month. Take a boat trip and view the breathtaking white chalk cliff coastline known as Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters. Stroll the nature trails within the South Downs National Park, or visit Pevensey Castle, Herstmonceux Science Centre, and the market town of Battle. Golf and fishing are available locally. We had.a Weekend away it was very clean home from home .Paul made us very welcome and let us know everything we needed to know we would definitely return as the village was with in walking distance with a good Indian restaurant which was very friendly and very good food .

It couldn’t have been any better! A lovely, cosey, well equpped and very clean cottage. All we could wish for was there, we felt at home and had a lovely stay. And a special word of thank you to Paul and Bee. We’ve been travelling to the UK for more than 20 years (with cottages.com) but these lovely people are the nicest and kindest hostst we have ever had!We are looking forward to returning in september!

Stayed at this lovely barn conversion for 3 nights, the accommodation was extremely comfortable and clean.The owner was very welcoming and informative about the history of the Windmill in the grounds which underwent complete restoration.
