Lantern Lodge is consistently praised for its warm, cosy atmosphere and high-quality finishes. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, modern amenities, and the convenience of a nearby bistro. The location offers a mix of countryside charm and accessibility to London, with some limitations for direct walks with pets. The responsive and respectful owner adds to the positive experience, although some guests noted minor issues with road noise and bedding preferences.
Guests unanimously commend the property for its exceptional cleanliness, with one review highlighting that there wasn't 'even a speck of dust anywhere'.
The location is well-received for its village charm and proximity to countryside walks, though some guests noted limited direct walking options from the cottage and occasional road noise.
Comfort is highly rated, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the property cosy. A few guests mentioned the bedding being too soft, but this seems to be a matter of personal preference.
Facilities are praised for being modern and well-equipped. The high-end finishes, spacious kitchen, and drench shower are particularly appreciated. A minor suggestion for more coathangers indicates excellent overall maintenance.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

We had a great 4 night stay at lantern lodge. The property was warm and cosy with an open plan kitchen and living space. 2 good sized bedrooms( A few more coathangers needed) Fab tv on wall with a nice dining table and chairs to eat dinner. Good communication with owner during our stay. We would definitely recommend,

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Lantern Lodge. It was convenient to get to, since we do not have a car, as the railway station was about a 15-20 min walk or a taxi ride from Basingstoke. The cottage was super clean; I don't think there was even a speck of dust anywhere! The Farm Shop/ Bistro right next door was a super bonus. We loved every item we ordered in the week we were there! Another huge bonus was to have Ben (the owner, we shared the courtyard with), who was super responsive and so so friendly! He was also ever so respectful in giving us privacy. A downside at times was the noise from the cars on the main road, but it was definitely great to be away from the loud, grating city noises we have in London! Also the bed and pillows were a little too soft for us. Other than that, we enjoyed our time, especially up on the mezzanine, where we chillled and played board games! It was great to be able to use deliveroo.. we were too lazy to cook!

Lantern Lodge was a lovely place for a chill week away. The Barn next door was excellent for a lovely meal or drink. We had our dog with us and it was a little limited to walk directly from the cottage but plenty of nice walking areas a short drive away.
