Guests appreciate the cosy and well-equipped accommodation, welcoming touches, and the proximity to local amenities and attractions. While most experiences are positive, a few guests noted issues with showering facilities and occasional inconveniences like flies.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to accurately assess the cleanliness of the property, as no specific comments regarding cleanliness were provided by the guests.

The location is consistently lauded for its quietness, peacefulness, and natural beauty, with easy access to walks and wildlife. Its proximity to local pubs, shops, and attractions in Hampshire adds to its appeal.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, mentioning the cosy feel and underfloor heating. However, some guests noted that the bed size and showering facilities could be improved.

The cottage is well-equipped and guests are generally satisfied with the amenities provided. However, there are remarks about the shower attachment being unsuitable for full showers and an issue with flies, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.

Guests are delighted by the thoughtful welcome packs, which include treats like milk, biscuits, and tea. It's important to note that such gestures, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

As the name suggests, Drovers Cottage was formerly a place of rest for drovers (modern day livestock transporters), who travelled hundreds and hundreds of miles with their animals and needed somewhere to rest. The group of fir trees, which still remain to this day, were an easily recognisable landmark even from afar. The fields surrounding the cottage are of archaeological interest, as they were used as Roman camps and often oyster shells can be found, these were brought in barrels from the coast for the Roman warriors to eat, and they tossed the shells into the fields.

Having been totally renovated, Drovers Cottage offers tasteful and well-presented accommodation, and is within easy walking distance to the quaint thatched-roof village, with its shop, beautiful church and two pubs serving good food. This picturesque village is steeped in history, it has a bronze burial in the parish, which dates back to 2000BC. The village was part of the Royal Manor, belonging first to King Alfred the Great, then later William the Conqueror, which is recorded in the Domesday Book.

Within easy reach are the South Downs, Portsmouth, Winchester Cathedral, Southampton with its maritime history, the New Forest, Chichester, beaches at the Witterings or Hayling Island, the Watercress steam train, Jane Austen’s house, Gilbert White’s house and Birdworld. We had a lovely stay at Drovers Cottage. Nice touch with milk, biscuits tea and coffee etc when you arrive. If you want to be somewhere off the beaten track - this is the place! Truly amazing location and totally secluded, peaceful and tranquil. Very cosy Cottage with underfloor heating downstairs. Has everything you need for a cosy getaway. Has walks straight from the cottage and up to the South Downs. We walked over to the sustainability centre and had tea and a very nice piece of carrot cake. The only improvement I could suggest would be a smart tv as we like to relax with a movie after a long walk but there are masses of DVDs to choose from. There is freesat TV also with normal terrestrial tv. One thing to note - there is only a hand held shower over the bath because of the sloping roof which I had read but didn’t quite realise so you really need to have a bath and you can then shower your hair in the bath. This was quite a nice issue to be forced into having a bath every day!! His communication before arriving and easy to get access. Would highly recommend.

This was my second stay, and the place is just as lovely second time around. The cottage is so quiet and peaceful; it's a wonderful place to stay.

We've stayed in East Meon last year at another cottage and enjoyed the location very much, the location assisting us to visit family in Hampshire and West Sussex. So this year we decided to stay at Drovers Cottage and it didn't disappoint at all, small but perfectly form and very well equipped for two adults and a Doberman, who very much enjoyed the locate walks from the front door but was a little put out by the pheasants and partridges, we don't get them at home in Cornwall. We were welcomed with milk in the fridge and other yummy freebees, which were appreciated after a 6 hour journey. We would certainly recommend and will be booking again for our next visit to Hampshire.
