Totland sits within the Isle of Wight National Landscape, offering unspoilt coastal scenery alongside handy village shops and local pubs. The award-winning beaches at Totland Bay and Colwell Bay are perfect for traditional seaside days. A footpath leads 1 mile to Freshwater, where you’ll find a golf course and public swimming pool, ideal for keeping everyone entertained. Access the shoreline on foot or via a nearby chair lift for unforgettable vistas across the sand cliffs to The Needles. History lovers can explore the narrow streets, ancient castle and bustling harbour of Yarmouth (3 miles), or follow the scenic Needles to Yarmouth Castle walk right from the doorstep.
Accessed via a few steps, this single-storey seaside retreat combines period charm with laid-back comfort. From the moment you arrive, high ceilings and an original fireplace hint at the building’s heritage, creating an inviting first impression. The fitted kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for hearty breakfasts or leisurely suppers, flowing through to a generous lounge, where deep, comfortable seating gathers around a glowing wood burner. FreeSat TV and a Blu-ray player are on hand for cosy evenings in. In the bay window, a dining table is positioned to make the most of the sweeping outlook, with far-reaching views stretching towards The Needles. There are two en-suite bedrooms: one with a king-size bed, and the other adaptable as either a twin or a super-king-size, giving flexible arrangements.
Outside, a patio garden to the front provides a lovely spot for morning coffee, while the fully enclosed rear patio gives additional space. Guests also have access to enclosed shared grounds (down some steps) – a great area for children to explore. Garden furniture and a picnic bench invite you to sit back with a chilled drink and take in the sea air. Ample off-road parking is available in a private car park approximately 100 metres away, and guests are welcome to load and unload luggage on the grass directly beside the cottage for ease on arrival and departure.
