We had really high hopes for the house as there were amazing reviews and the pictures looked lovely. However when arriving the house was freezing cold, it was unbearably cold and we all had to keep our jackets on. We contacted the host who did tell us how to turn the heating on, but as the house is quite large, this took a long time and we all went to bed freezing that night. The heating was better the next day. On our first night we were also visited by a mouse, which ran into the dining room, I know this is sometimes unavoidable during the winter, but for the price we’re paying wouldn’t expect there to be rodents in the house. The bathrooms were all quite small and not very modern and the living areas didn’t have enough seats for a group of 10 of us. That being said the kitchen was lovely and was a nice part of the house for us all to socialise in and the local area was lovely and close to shops which was convenient. The host got back to us quite quickly regarding heating but didn’t offer any support regarding the mouse, so we had to deal with this ourselves. It was a nice stay, but it could’ve been better!

We all absolutely loved our stay at the Old Doctors Manor House. Our only criticism would be that the water was not hot enough, the showers did not match the standard of the rest of the house, which we found to be a shame. But we did not let the showers and water put a dampener on our stay! Such a lovely place to stay. Thank you.
