Poppy Lodge really keeps family holidays in mind with a cool Scandinavian chalet design, ideally located on a holiday park of similar properties offering lots of fun for all. The Scandinavian theme is present throughout Poppy Lodge with wooden walls on show in the living room and sloping ceilings in the two comfortable bedrooms, keeping in line with the traditional triangle point design. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a separate dining room with patio doors leading to the terrace where you can dine al fresco in the summer evenings.
The holiday park offers an array of facilities to keep all the family entertained including an indoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, a volleyball court, ping pong tables, a mini golf course, a social club and a reception area. One of Poppy Lodge’s best features is the stunning sea view of the beach located just a stone’s throw away!
Kingsdown is a charming village with many local amenities and is situated near Deal, which is just 3 miles away, famously known for Deal and Walmer castles and its beautiful seafront. Beach ½ mile. Shop and restaurant 500 yards, pub on-site.

We lasted just a few hours at this lodge before being forced to give up on our 4 day break due to the excessive noise coming from next doors ‘new’ front balcony which was not there when we booked the lodge. We booked this lodge because the picture showed no front balcony next door and also showed privacy shrubbery between the two semi-detached lodges On arrival we instantly noticed this was not the case. Being a hot day and wanting to enjoy the good view from this lodge we were now sitting on the front balcony ‘shoulder to shoulder’ with next doors guests on their ‘new’ front balcony. Unfortunately for us the guests next door were 5 young women on a hen party who started their celebrations straight away. Going inside the lodge made little difference to the sound coming in from next doors adjacent front balcony as it was less than a few feet away from our lounge window. You have to have the windows open in this triangular building in the summer as it is so hot inside with windows just at the front and back. Especially the upstairs front and rear window as the heat gathers at the top of this triangular building. The upstairs is accessed by steep ladder like stairs and is awkward to walk around due to the sloping side walls of the triangular building. Having endured the noise coming from next doors ‘new’ front balcony for a few hours and not wanting to suffer the rest of the 4 day break we left on the day of arrival. We contacted the owners who offered apologies and excuses but no compensation. Beware of misleading pictures of this lodge and who you get next door.
