Guests say

Rose Cottage is a well-appointed, cosy property ideal for couples with pets, offering a great location for exploring Hythe and nearby attractions. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, the proximity to shops, walks, and the seafront, as well as the off-road parking. Some guests note the steep stairs and lack of shower, suggesting it may not suit those with mobility issues or for extended stays.

Most guests find Rose Cottage clean and tidy, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, a few guests have raised concerns about stained bed sheets and a dirty mattress, suggesting room for improvement in this area.

The location is highly praised for its convenience to Hythe High Street, the beach, and local attractions. The availability of off-road parking is a bonus, although the steep hill and narrow drive may be challenging for some.

The cottage is generally considered cosy and comfortable, especially with the log burner. However, the steep, narrow stairs and small rooms may detract from comfort for some guests, particularly those with mobility issues or larger pets.

Facilities are adequate with a well-equipped kitchen and heating, but guests suggest that updates are needed, including the addition of a shower and new cooking equipment. The presence of bare electrical wires is a concern.

Guests mention welcome gifts such as wine and biscuits, which add a thoughtful touch to their arrival. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be provided on every occasion.

This is our third visit to Rose Cottage which is a really well appointed home, ideal for couple with dog in a great location to visit Hythe and surrounding areas. Lots of lovely walks on the doorstep, we always enjoy the canal path and seafront promenade. Hythe has plenty of shops to look around and places to eat or grab a coffee. There are two big supermarkets to buy supplies. Further afield we like the sculpture trail in Folkestone, Dungeness is an interesting place which can be visited on the Hythe & Dymchurch miniature railway. The cottage is always clean & tidy, the off road parking space is a bonus and the owner is a good host.

I would say it is challenging for elderly people as the stairs are narrow. It is also a steep walk from the high street to the cottage. We found the cottage ideal for 4 nights.Only having a bath and no shower was a disadvantage as there were no handles on the side of the bath.Although some of these details sound negative we really enjoyed ourselves.
