Box Cottage is a charming and well-equipped property praised for its great location, cosy atmosphere, and beautiful garden. Guests appreciate the proximity to a fantastic pub and enjoy the lovely walks available. The cottage's character adds to its appeal, though some mention steep stairs and low doorways. A generous welcome basket is often highlighted, contributing to the homely feel.
Guests have not specifically mentioned cleanliness, but the absence of negative comments and the use of terms like 'mega comfy and clean' for the bedding suggest that the property is well-maintained. Therefore, a high score is given.
The location is frequently praised for its idyllic setting, proximity to a pub with great food, and easy access to country walks. However, one review mentions it being remote, which may not suit everyone's preferences.
Comfort is highlighted with mentions of a cosy inglenook fireplace, comfortable beds, and a peaceful garden. The steep stairs and low ceilings, while part of the cottage's charm, may pose challenges for some, slightly affecting the score.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and a good-sized modern TV. The recent addition of a new oven has improved the experience. However, the steep stairs and low doorways are noted as part of the property's older character.
The generous welcome basket is mentioned as a thoughtful touch, enhancing the homely experience. While such gifts contribute positively to guests' stays, it's important to note that they are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Named after the lovely box hedging that surrounds the cottage, this Grade II listed cottage dates back to the 17th century. It has recently been renovated to provide a wonderful self-catering Kent holiday home. Original old pine floorboards downstairs add to the character, as well as traditional brick flooring in the entrance hall. A small winding staircase leads up to two bedrooms which are tucked into the eaves, both overlook the front garden out of little leaded windows and make the most of the stunning views of the rolling Kent countryside.
The pretty enclosed garden extends to the rear of the holiday cottage and from the kitchen you can wander out and enjoy the private outside space. As the holiday cottage is in such a rural area of Kent there are an extensive network of delightful footpaths to explore so it is ideal for walkers whether you are just looking for a short evening stroll or a long cross country ramble. In the colder months why not look forward to cosying up by the fireplace with a good book and glass of wine. This cottage is ideal for anytime of year.

A lovely old cottage in a great location - being within a short walking distance of a fantastic pub is definitely a bonus. Sunday lunch was brilliant. Lots of lovely walks straight out of the door for the dogs was heaven. The cottage is really well equipped - I always have slight trepidation about a lack of a sharp knife or other everyday items - but absolutely no worries here. The stairs in the cottage are a bit steep for anyone with mobility issues, but are to be expected in such a property. There are also some low doorways, particularly the main bedroom. I'm not that tall, but I must've hit my head half a dozen times during the week - that's my fault, but just be aware. The TV isn't photographed and my other half was worried it would be tiny, but again it's a good sized modern HD telly if you were wondering. My one gripe about the village is that there's no public litter/ dog poo bins anywhere, not great for dog owners. You need to bring it home with you.

We can’t recommend Box Cottage and its lovely hostess Marcia enough. The location is idyllic with an amazing garden for outdoor dining and BBQs. Inside you get all the cosiness that comes with an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. It feels so homely and the generous welcome basket is a great bonus. Beds and bedding are mega comfy and clean. We love it here and the peaceful garden with lots of birds visiting is awesome. Lovely location for country walks and tasty pub lunches. Close to faversham and very easy to get there. Thank you so much for another super stay.
