Standing detached beside the owner’s driveway, Ladyvale Barn is named after the ancient stone clapper bridge just a short walk away. All guests are welcome to make full use of the owners lower garden which has a large pond and an area between the pond and the river with a picnic bench. It is tucked away in a very rural location adjoining to Cardinham Woods, the largest wooded area in Cornwall with 650 acres of forest and well-loved by many for a leisurely stroll or an exhilarating cycle. Just walk along the lane and into the woods where you can find the many brilliant walks and mountain bike trails. Venture a little further and visit the café in the woods, a real treat after a good ramble.
Ladyvale Barn would suit couples looking for a quiet location in which to enjoy a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of modern life. This property has been renovated from a barn and is very comfortably furnished with oak flooring and snug underfloor heating throughout, a walk-in wet room style shower and a lovely bedroom with stable door leading to a small patio area complete with garden furniture and hot tub. Beyond this are gardens leading down to a lawn with a summerhouse beside the river for the guest’s sole use. Upstairs, the room is open plan with a modern kitchen, dining and living area overlooking the river and woods.

A beautiful little cottage in a fairytale environment. Sitting in a hot tub overlooking towering trees of the forest and friendly birds that make you feel like snow white is not to be missed. Or staring upwards at night losing count of the stars. An unbeatable time in a lost little world and yet only a half hours stroll from a little cafe deep in the forest for lunch. Utterly gorgeous walks nearby with stunning views. The host was helpful, attentive and considerate whilst allowing full privacy and time to feel like you're the only people in the world. He strikes a perfect balance. The cottage was well appointed, spotless and charming and overall the experience was like being transported into a Ghibli movie. The perfect little break we needed from real life. We'll definitely be back. If this place is vacant book immediately you won't regret it.

This is a slice of heaven in Cardinham Woods. The added amenity of a hot tub is simply fabulous. A quiet location with wonderful walks and easy access to other locations such as Fowey. This is our 5th visit and we will be back to see our very helpful kind hosts Lance and Kate.
