So this is a cottage with shared gardens and a shared games room which had been trashed! On arrival we realised that this type of remote location is no good at all for the neurodivergent. It is totally cut off with miles of single lane road and passing is a nightmare. Four miles to the nearest shop which has nothing. Well over half an hour drive to get to the coast. The sofa bases are cream and terribly stained - I was so bored I tried to clean them and they looked better but not brilliant. Cobwebs, a dirty bathrobe on arrival and the wood around the sinks in the downstairs bathroom are destroyed by water damage and need some serious attention. The upstairs shower leaked due to a hair blockage due to poor regular maintenance and the water came down through the ceiling into the downstairs bathroom and as my husband is a trained plumber her fixed it. I gave the patio a good wash down because there were leaves on the steps that when wet would be a death trap. The guttering is totally full of leaves and needs doing. The kitchen was covered in grimy finger marks and stains and so J gave it a thorough wipe down but that obviously had not been done for a very long time. The kitchen is well equipped but the tv in the lounge has a bad signal and there is a lot of interference. However the manager Suzanne is amazing and she does the best she can. We got there Saturday and left Tuesday morning instead of staying the whole week we paid for. I did venture to nearby Liskard but all that was there was were closed or empty shops, Poundland and a lot of charity shops. Not suitable for the neurodiverse at all. Pet rules - pets not in bedrooms or on furniture are not made clear prior to booking and I wouldn’t have gone if I had known that in advance.

We had a lovely week at The Mill House and agree with previous guests' comments. There was a cream tea awaiting us and the kitchen in particular is roomy. The bed in the master bedroom was as large and comfortable as any we've experienced. It is a very quiet, rural location down a long, narrow undulating road. It's a good base for visiting many great places (Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and popular coastal villages). Our family thoroughly enjoyed the games room and there were lots of options in there to get all ages involved in the fun. Our only minor issue was that the enclosed garden wasn't secure enough for our small dog to be let off lead unsupervised - we should have checked this with the owner first - but in practice this wasn't a problem as we were out most of the time anyway.

We had a fantastic holiday and the property was exactly what we needed. There was everything that you need, including milk in the fridge and coffee pods available on arrival. The owner was available for any questions or issues and was happy to help where she could. Would definitely recommend this property and the only slight inconvenience was the 15 min drive to local shops to get a newspaper
