We loved our stay at The Roost. Beautiful cottage, very dog friendly and the guides provided really helped us get to know the local area and have a fab holiday.

Great village location and close to A30. Lovely views from doors in lounge and cute little front garden. We were disappointed that the cottage hadn't been hoovered on arrival. Hairs were visible on the slate floor and there were bits on the bedroom carpet. The cream rug under the the dining room table had crumbs by the table leg and needs a good clean to remove stains. Bedding was clean but the thrown over the end of the bed was marked. Has the makings to be a great little place but considering it has received the customer award I felt the cleaning needed more attention to detail.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Roost. It was clean, comfortable and spacious with a lovely view. It was also very peaceful. The owner was very friendly and helpful as were the staff at the New Inn and the community owned village shop. We had some lovely walks on the moors with our dog and visited nearby Blisland, which is also very pretty.
