The area is a firm favourite with surfers thanks to reliable waves and excellent surf schools, while walkers can join well-marked footpaths and bridleways that criss-cross the landscape and link up with breathtaking coastal routes. Nearby activities range from horse riding and cycling to golf. Further adventures await in Boscastle (13 miles) and Tintagel (17 miles), home to the Old Post Office, Tintagel Castle and Merlin’s Cave. With the A39 close by, exploring Cornwall and Devon is refreshingly straightforward.

The dining area is perfect for leisurely breakfasts or post-beach dinners, with those excellent views always easily visible. When bedtime calls, three tastefully finished bedrooms await: a double with its own en-suite rainfall shower, plus two twin rooms that’ll work well for children.
