About this property

Coombe Lodge No 9 is a well-presented single-storey lodge resting in Bude, Cornwall, offering off-road parking, a private courtyard, and access to communal gardens, alongside countryside views from a light-filled conservatory. Positioned within Penstowe Park, this inviting retreat is well-suited to families or friends seeking a coastal escape with everything arranged across one level. Step inside to discover the open-plan living space, where the kitchen, dining, and sitting areas combine to form a sociable heart to the home. Here, meals can be prepared with ease before gathering around the table to share stories of the day, while the sitting area offers a relaxed setting with ample seating and a TV for evenings indoors.

Beyond, the conservatory provides a wonderful vantage point for taking in the scenery, with a dining setting that invites you to linger over breakfast or a relaxed supper while admiring the coastal outlook. The property hosts two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both thoughtfully presented, while the bathroom completes the interior. Outside, the private courtyard allows you to follow the sun throughout the day, with patio furniture creating a setting for alfresco moments amid the fresh sea air. Bude offers a vibrant seaside experience, with highlights including Summerleaze Beach, Bude Sea Pool, and the scenic Bude Canal for waterside walks.

Further along the coast, Crackington Haven presents dramatic cliffs and striking coastal scenery, while Boscastle invites exploration of its historic harbour and the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic. Venture to Tintagel to discover Tintagel Castle, the Old Post Office, and its links to Arthurian legend, offering a fascinating day out for all ages. For those seeking further variety, Polzeath and Port Isaac provide charming coastal settings, while Clovelly offers a unique stepped village experience rich in character. Combining convenience and a scenic setting, Coombe Lodge No 9 makes a wonderful base for exploring Cornwall.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
