A detached holiday cottage in the grounds of the owner’s property, with views across the open countryside and down river. A perfect retreat for active couples who enjoy cycling, canoeing and hiking, or for those who are just in search of picturesque settings, quiet walks and visits to the local pub. Set in the pretty riverside village of Calstock, in the heart of the Tamar Valley (a quiet area of Cornwall close to the border with Devon). It is a great base from which to explore many areas, including the market town of Tavistock, Dartmoor with rugged tors, rural mid Cornwall, or even the sweeping beaches on the north and south Cornish coastlines. There is a public slipway into a tidal river available in the village. A local motorcycle festival takes place in the village during the first weekend in August each year. Shop and pub ¼ mile.

Just completed a 7 night stay at the Little House and must say we had a lovely time despite the variable weather. In the heart of the Tamar valley Its a very scenic location. The hosts were very friendly and the cottage was well equipped for two people with two great pubs within easy walking distance. I say 'easy' but the return did involve a steep hill up to the cottage which was the only downside to the location which otherwise would have scored as excellent.. Sadly there is no longer a village shop so make sure you stop off at a supermarket on your way. Tavistock has a selection. Would definately reccommend the Little House.

The Little House is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Beautiful location with countless varied walks right on the doorstep. The cottage itself has everything you need - a real home away from home.

Picture postcard setting, very steep hill to walk up and down to village which is quaint. The hosts were friendly and helpful on places to visit and see, but also discreet.
