The property is well-suited for family stays and provides a comfortable 'home away from home' experience, with some guests expressing a strong desire to return.
While some guests found Gull Cottage to be a comfortable stay, there are reports of cleanliness issues, including stains, unpleasant odours, and unclean kitchen equipment, which suggest the need for improvement in this area.

Guests have had mixed experiences with comfort; some found the cottage to be a cosy retreat, while others mentioned uncomfortable beds and issues with heating, indicating room for enhancement.
The property offers a range of facilities, but there are concerns about maintenance, including non-functioning lights and alarms, and a lack of certain amenities like a BBQ. However, some guests were satisfied with the available amenities.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owners, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

This part of Cornwall has an abundance of beautiful beaches, National Trust properties and gardens. Cornwall is known for its amazing beaches. The closest beaches are Swanpool and Maenporth just 1 mile away. Gyllyngvase is the largest in Falmouth just a short drive away. It is a sandy flat beach with parking nearby. There is a Gylly Beach Cafe on the beach, where you can choose from a hot chocolate, a snack or try the locally sourced mains.
An ideal base to explore the area and for gardening enthusiasts, Trebah and Glendurgan are close by. Falmouth town is 5 minutes’ drive away where you can explore the Maritime Museum, wander the cobbled street looking at the local shops, great for gifts and souvenirs. There is a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from. Why not pick up some fish and chips and eat them at the harbour looking at the boats. There is usually a large ship that has come in for repairs and you may even see a cruise ship as this is a popular stop off for them.
For walkers you will be spoilt by the choice of coast walks to admire the wildlife and enjoy the fresh air. Why not wander around Pendennis Castle? It was an artillery fort constructed by Henry V111 and you can walk around the moat, stop for an ice cream and admire the view. It is now in the care of English Heritage and open to the public. If you want to surf then Porthleven is a good choice, a beautiful small harbour with its own beach, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Great for a day out or night out, it is 30 minutes away. Why not take the younger ones to the harbour to catch crabs, or let the older ones play in the water!

This is a fantastic holiday home. Beautifully presented with lots of room. The location is great, so many beaches in close proximity. Great to get into Falmouth, the club house has lovely food and great activities for the children. Highly recommend this cottage. We had a wonderful time as a family of 5.

Our trips to Falmouth, in both Sept and Nov 2025, book-ended our trip to the UK and is primarily a chance to catch up with friends there and Gull Cottage, located at Pendra Loweth, (Cornish for Village of Gardens) Holiday Village is a 5 min drive to our friends home. Gull cottage definitely suited our needs well beyond location, offering a quiet, tranquil base to rest up between visits and site seeing trips around Cornwall. Offering all of the creature comforts we needed to relax and unwind, especially our second time there. On returning to Gull cottage in November, as we entered, my wife commented that, “we were home” and yes, that was how it felt, offering a place to not only rest up after nearly eleven weeks of touring, but somewhere that we could prepare for the final part of our journey to return back home to our friends and families in Australia. We did have a couple of little issues second time around, one we were aware of prior to returning, having been forewarned by the owner, via email, but caused no issue for us. While the second was with the heating in the living area, which we were able to work around with a secondary heating unit. We found the owners to be both approachable and helpful, which we both really appreciated.Neither of these issues would stop us from rebooking Gull Cottage on future visits to Falmouth and we would both highly recommend it for your time in the Falmouth area of Cornwall.
