About this property

Slipway Cottage is a stylish reverse level property close to the slipway at Falmouth and part of the Packet Quays waterside development. The property has many balconies from which to enjoy the spectacular sea views and the living area is a relaxing and welcoming space making this an ideal retreat for friends and family. The entry leads into the hallway with two bedrooms, the master with en-suite shower room, and a family bathroom. The stairs lead up to the first floor living area and separates the sitting and dining area from the kitchen. The flooring is carpet and tiled throughout with underfloor and central heating.

There is a private garage (access is 2.12m wide by 2m high) beside the courtyard for parking one car. Situated just fifty feet from the slipway. Approached from a courtyard by a flight of stone steps one cannot fail to be impressed by the atmosphere created within this tasteful mix of luxury cottages and apartments wherein nautical elements prevail. With a history bound up with the sea, part of Falmouth's charismatic appeal is undoubtedly its magnificent harbour and scenic waterfront. Bustling narrow streets are home to a range of fine restaurants, old inns interesting shops, and the Maritime Museum. There is a wealth of things to see and do in Falmouth but Truro is within 15 miles and The Lizard within 25 miles for more attractions, restaurants and culture, so Slipway Cottage is in an ideal spot for a holiday at any time of the year.

Falmouth, with its magnificent natural harbour (the third largest in the world), winding streets and beaches, will keep you occupied for hours. The town's old harbour-side pubs, excellent shopping, art gallery and stunning National Maritime Museum simply complete the picture. Pendennis Castle, built by Henry viii, is Falmouth's most popular attraction, sited on its own peninsula with superb panoramic sea views. Across from Falmouth harbour is the beautiful town of St Mawes, surrounded by the rocky coves, sandy beaches and lush green countryside of the Roseland Peninsula. Go there by car (15 miles) or take the passenger ferry from Falmouth (15 minutes). For nature lovers there is the Swanpool Nature Reserve, a lagoon and site of special scientific interest teeming with a variety of wildlife. Falmouth offers such a rich variety of landscape and attractions for people of all ages, it is sure to tempt you back time and again.

Just needs a little TLC for 5 stars: En-suite shower control very stiff. Internal door handles loose. Beds ideally could do with a soft topper. Very homely with games, maps and personal effects. Welcome gift of scone on arrival. Just squeezed our X4 in the garage - really need to publish width, height and length for others, but a welcome addition to our stay!

The view that greeted us as we moved upstairs to the open living room/kitchen brought instant smiles, and we spent many happy hours just sitting relaxing there on the comfortable chairs or on the balcony. The fixtures and fittings were excellent, the beds very comfortable, and the care and attention to making guests feel contented was so well done. Downside: tiny entrance to garage, tho' spacious inside. The stairs to the property had been mentioned and guests warned, but maybe fuller mention needed for those of us no longer young or partially disabled. Together with pedestrian access to Packet Quay via the original stairs up to/from the town - quite fiendishly steep. That aside, Slipway Cottage is a delightful property and our stay there and in lovely Falmouth was just wonderful.
