If you are a couple who want an out-of-the-way getaway to relax & rejuvenate & want to park the car for a week, especially if retired with bus passes, I would highly recommend Pentarow. Good amenities & facilities, good dual shower, overhead & directional, plenty of towels, comfortable bed & lounge, & the underfloor heating makes for a very cosy environment in cold, wet weather. We visited in Feb 26, wettest time in Cornwall on record. Wet weather had punished Cornish country lanes with surface water covering potholes, but driving slowly & carefully avoided them. Inspite of being in a working farm, with pedigree cows nextdoor, it was surprisingly quiet & peaceful. Constantine village was a 15min walk to a friendly Spa store for groceries, the 35a bus (one an hour) to Falmouth, Gweek, Helston & the Lizard. Constantine Stores boasts an amazing variety of sprits, especially if you are fond of whisky & gin , more than you can count. The bus to Falmouth for Fish & Chips at Harbour Lights is recommended, but there are a host of other enticing restaurants. Helston has a Lidl, Sainsburys & Tesco to stock up for a week. Portleven is worth a visit for it's famed high waves, tall as the watchtower in bad weather. Cosy evenings with meal of choice, drink & flat screen TV with Netflix, ITV X & BBC iPlayer, or quiety reading that book you have not finished is highly recommended. Hosts John & Bridget Olds are extremely friendly & helpful. Overall, a lovely place to stay for a week & relax.
