Experience - The Area...

Set in an elevated position with sea views at the top of Polruan is The Doghouse which is a large, beautifully presented two bedroom cabin set in the grounds of the owner's home with ample garden and private parking.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan has two pubs which serve food, a handy convenience store with off license, a general holiday store with Post Office and cashpoint, a Chandlery store for all your boating requirements and tea rooms.  A bus runs throughout the day down into Polruan as well as servicing other tourist destinations such as Looe and Polperro.

From the quayside you can hop on the foot ferry which runs frequently across the harbour to Fowey where you will find an array of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs at your disposal.  A car ferry across to Fowey operates from nearby Bodinnick. Please note that a charge for using either ferry applies all year round. Leisure boats can be moored in the harbour for a reasonable fee and by contacting the Harbourmaster in Fowey.

Polruan has two tidal beaches known to the locals as front and back beaches.  Tide permitting, these little stretches of beach are family friendly and the pontoon is ideal for children to fish for crab. Otherwise, the nearest beaches are at Lantivet Bay, Lansallos and Lantic Bay all within a 10 minute drive or Readymoney Cove on the Fowey side of the river, and the area has a wealth of historical and coastal walks.

The property is accessed via a ramp up into (one step) a useful porch which in turn leads into the main hallway off which the living and sleeping accommodation can be found.

To the right is the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The bespoke oak and well-equipped kitchen provides all the expected appliances with a separate external utility room housing the washing machine and tumble dryer and handy extra WC. The living room with 42" Panasonic television provides comfortable easy seating and dining for the four guests accommodated with far reaching views out to sea.

Should heating be required in this exceptionally well insulated property, portable electric heaters are provided.

The two bedrooms which comprise of a double and twin are of a good size with ample hanging and drawer space provided. The family shower room WC consists of a shower cubicle, wash hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.

- This property welcomes a maximum of two medium sized dogs although pets will need to be supervised when outside.
- Guests are welcome to bring their own travel or carrycot so long as the party numbers do not exceed the advertised 4 including the baby.
