About this property

Crab Pot Cottage is a charming, four-bedroom holiday home resting near the coast in the bustling town of Porthleven, Cornwall. With a collection of traditional, well-appointed interiors, and a terrific location close to nearby amenities and outstanding views of the harbour, this delightful abode makes an ideal base for a family or group looking to book a refreshing, fuss-free seaside getaway. Park up roadside outside your new home-from-home, taking a moment to soak in your brilliant new setting as you gaze out upon the bobbing boats that rest along the harbour. Step into Crab Pot Cottage and be instantly greeted by an array of warm living spaces, complete with wooden floors and tasteful, exposed stone walls, some featuring art from local artists that serve to add character to this already vibrant dwelling. Get to work in the well-equipped kitchen, rustling up a delicious meal that can be savoured in the dining room or even in the rear courtyard if you and your loved ones fancy an alfresco affair. To relax, retreat to the sitting room, an inviting space with ample seating, a sleek Smart TV, and a well-placed woodburning stove - the perfect place to catch up on the day's events over a glass of your favourite tipple. On warmer days, walk across the road to your very own private garden, where you can take a seat on the outdoor furniture as you enjoy unparalleled views of the harbour and beyond, a truly dreamy way to spend your evenings. When sleep calls, refresh with a shower or bath before you finally catch your rest in one of the home's four welcoming bedrooms, including a plush king-size with a TV and en-suite bathroom, a small double, a twin with TV, and the pirate room, housing a single bed, ideal for children; there is also a shower room and cloakroom for your convenience. If you can tear yourself from your tranquil new home, set out on foot to explore the boundless beauty of Porthleven and beyond. A short walk will bring you to your nearest pub and restaurant, The Ship, followed by the Atlantic Inn Porthleven, if hearty pub grub is in order, whilst the idyllic stretch of Porthleven Beach is also within walking distance, where lazy beach days and water sports are waiting to be enjoyed. Discover Kota Kai for brasserie and fusion food or head into the town centre where you will find the quayside location of the Harbour Inn, as well as Amélie restaurant, along with Porthleven Supermarket, where you can load up on homely essentials throughout your stay. Other notable places to eat include Nauti But Ice, The Deli, Ann's Pasties and The Atlantic Inn, where you can watch the sun go down over the sea, along with Dan Dan the Lobster man, a seasonal harbourside van and tables for seafood, a haven for foodies. Pay a visit to the art galleries on the harbourside on route to the Clock Tower, or if your stay aligns, experience occasional exhibitions in the Old Life Boathouse. During your time in Porthleven, be sure to pay a visit to the Baulk Stocks and the picture-perfect locale of Porthleven Harbour, whilst the fabulous National Trust site of Penrose nearby also serve as must-visit attractions that you simply cannot miss. All of this and more is yours to enjoy when you choose Crab Pot Cottage for your next Cornish getaway.

Porthleven is one of south west Cornwall’s hidden, coastal gems, located near Helston, famous for it's annual Flora Dance Festival. Situated between Lizard Point and Land’s End, Porthleven retains the feel of a traditional Cornish fishing village, enjoying uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Cornish coastline. The iconic clock tower sits on the harbour entrance and the pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants cluster around the historic picturesque inner harbour, where there is plenty of boating and marine activity. With a warren of streets lined with classic Cornish, granite cottages, an extensive beach manned with lifeguards, the chance for alfresco dining in one of a number of well reviewed restaurants, and crabbing off the harbour, there are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, all year round. Porthleven is building a reputation for eating out with a popular food festival established in the spring. Out of season, Porthleven has one of the best surf breaks in the country where you can sit down and get lost for hours watching the energetic surfers riding the waves. There are some fabulous hidden coves along this stretch of coastline, including Praa Sands, Poldhu Cove, and Rinsey, a magical setting for the more energetic. You may have even seen pictures of Porthleven on television, being one of the best spots in the UK for storm watching, with the crashing winter waves often being used as the backdrop to weather forecasts. Walkers will enjoy the South West Coast Path, adventuring west past Rinsey Head with spectacular views, or south across Loe Bar to Penrose Estate with it's National Trust cafe, and on to Gunwalloe Church Cove. Take a trip to the Isles of Scilly by boat or plane and marvel at the display of sub-tropical gardens at the stunning Tresco Abbey. The Eden Project near St. Austell offers an interesting day out. Porthleven is the ideal base for discovering the delights of west Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula.
