The kitchen is very well equipped, but the ancient fridge needs replacing. The owner has changed the heating system from an oil boiler to electric heaters, which are really not effective enough for keeping a property of this type warm, and are controlled by the owner on WIFI, which meant we kept having to ask her to put the thermostat up and put the heat on at more relevant times, which she did do, but it was quite annoying to have to constantly have to ask, particularly as the phone signal is non existent, and she was often not in. It's probably fine during the hot summer months, when the doors to the garden are open, and more time is spent eating outside, but it feels a bit cool and damp on wet and windy days. The Three Tuns pub in St Keverne is excellent and also does take away pizza, and the village shop also well stocked. It would be useful if the owner could be contacted by Whatsapp as it would be more reliable than landline and mobile contact numbers.

The property is well furnished with plenty of space. The hosts, who live on site, were friendly and welcoming and on hand should we have needed them for anything. Thankyou!

There was only one drawback for us; the road into St Keverne can be dangerous to walk. There is a route through the fields, but that proved to be overgrown and a little arduous for two 69 year olds. The two pubs in St K serve lovely food and good beer, if that’s your choice and one has a take-away service if you’re feeling lazy. It’s an easy, pleasant drive to the tourist traps, although try to avoid Helston at rush hour. Do try Coverack, about 10 mins away. All in all, a lovely week spent with friendly people in beautiful countryside.
