On road parking; additional public car park 100 yards free of charge. No smoking.. Morvoren (Sea Maiden) Cottage is located in the heart of The Square on the Lizard Peninsula. Terraced and set over three floors, it is within convenient walking distance of shops, a tea room and a pub, and has excellent access to the South West Coastal Path. The Lizard Peninsula is the most southerly point of the British mainland and boasts its own unique landscape. Explore wonderful coves with pretty thatched cottages and colourful fishing boats, or relax on beautiful beaches, including nearby Kynance Cove. The rare geology of the area creates a haven for exceptional plants, flowers and wildlife. Pretty fishing coves and harbours such as Cadgwith Cove and Mullion are just a short drive away.
The area is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and will appeal to families and couples looking for a relaxing holiday within easy reach of a choice of beaches. The Lizard Lighthouse and Heritage Centre is open to the public, and you can climb to the top and take advantage of the glorious views. Visit St Winwaloe Church right on the beach at Gunwalloe - Church Cove dates back to the 13th century. The Marconi Centre at Poldhu Cove offers an insight into advances in media and transatlantic radio communication, and you can stop off en route at Roskilly’s famous farm to watch how they make the local ice cream and fudge. You can also enjoy walking, scuba diving, cycling, golf or simply relax and watch the ever-changing sea conditions, together with abundant wildlife including dolphins, basking sharks, seals and an array of birdlife. Beach ¼ mile. Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Great location and a lovely cottage, but in need of some care and a good clean and broken beds need replacing. Hopefully the owners will do this asap. Also, cottages.com gave out old contact details. Brilliant spot on The Lizard, great for walking.

Morvoren is an original Lizard village house Its location is good.When first entering we encountered the damp smell which stayed all week. The carpets in the living room are dirty and stained. The kitchen is good and utilises the space. The shower room is unclean with mould on the sink and in the shower cubicle on the walls. First floor bedrooms lack wardrobes in one and a small old but not at all useful or charming one in the front bedroom. Top floor brightest and best and clean smelling but again no wardrobe and just two child beds one of which is clearly broken and repaired unsuccessfully. Carpet stained throughout. If you like dog smell and damp this ideal for you. We had our dog with us and he now needs a shampoo clean from being in this house. The fault goes directly to the management owners who need to clean this place up and invest back some of the money they charge for it. This is the worst place I have stayed in and I have visited the Lizard every year. We booked days before coming and it was discounted heavily but in reality I wish I had not booked. If you like damp doggy smelling living rooms book here, if not, then you have been warned here. Owners of this house, you need to upgrade urgently and professional deep clean as a minimum. All the carpets need professional cleaning as they are stained. It got 3 stars on location and kitchen in the hope someone would see this review.

Sadly, this house was just not clean. We have stayed at many a place that takes dogs and they have been spotless yet this house one could feel and see the dirt. There were spills and stains over the living room rug and on the carpets on the upstairs landing and attic bedroom, and one could smell dampness and mould as one entered the house. I wiped down the dining room table immediately we arrived and the cloth became soiled. I then noticed the dining room chairs were filthy. The more I looked, the more dirt I found. The house itself had a homely feel and could have been perfect for our needs yet sadly, even the oven contained a used fatty grill from someone's previous sausages. No attention to detail had been made to the cleaning of the property. Unfortunately, we could not relax and enjoy the house, and it's facilities, and it spoilt our stay/holiday.
