There is a 12th century St Breaca church in Breage, which sits on top of Tregonning Hill, the highest point in the village. There are also the remnants of an earlier settlement on Tregonning Hill. Breage was a major tin and copper mining centre in the 19th century, with a significant output. In the present day, the village boasts a tiny but warm population, a charming bar, green spaces, and a town hall. Praa Sands beach, a lovely expanse of golden sand approximately 3 miles along the coast, is just a short drive away from Porthleven, which has numerous waterside inns and restaurants.
