Guests say

Guests have consistently praised The Granary for its peaceful rural setting, welcoming hosts, and dog-friendly environment. The property offers a cosy and homely atmosphere, with special mentions of the cream teas provided on arrival. The extensive grounds are appreciated for walks, and the cottage is well-equipped for a comfortable stay. The location serves as a good base for exploring Cornwall.

The cottage is generally described as clean and tidy. One review mentioned the need for a deep clean due to cobwebs, but this seems to be an isolated comment amidst overall positive feedback on cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and rural charm. It is considered a central point for exploring Cornwall, with easy access to the A30. The peaceful surroundings contribute positively to the guests' experiences.

Comfort is highlighted with mentions of a cosy atmosphere, comfortable beds, and sofas. The property is well-sized for families and provides a homely feel. However, one review suggested the ensuite shower room could be updated.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and games room adding to the enjoyment. Some reviews suggest certain areas, like the shower room, could benefit from modernisation, which slightly impacts the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with gestures like cream teas, dog treats, and other welcoming touches. While these gifts are greatly appreciated by guests, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed.

We had a wonderful stay at The Granary. Clive met us on our first day and gave us a warm welcome, showing us around the property. Our Labrador particularly loved the walks around the grounds. Although it was generally clean, there were quite a few cobwebs in places. The accommodation had everything we needed, though it did look a little tired in parts. That said, it didn’t put us off—we’ve already booked to return.

The Granary was warm and cosy and provided a good base to explore the north coast of Cornwall for a few days. The owners were friendly and helpful, and the cream tea and milk on arrival very welcoming. The property is one of their converted farm buildings, with walks to their lake, and is not far from A395. We would recommend a stay here. It's very quiet and rural, with no shop or pub nearby, just cows at the nearby farm. A walk around Tamar Lakes was nice too.

A lovely stay at the Granary over the New Years break, great location and Clive was there to meet us to talk through where everything was. Nice location for exploring places such as Looe, Tintagel, Boscastle all under an hours drive away. We made full use of the grounds and our dog loved the walks through the woods and around the lake, plus playing ball in the fields. (he didn't want to come home).Accommodation was spot on, everything you need for a kitchen perspective if you are eating in. great Wi-Fi connection if you have kids that need entertaining and cannot do without it for a few days, lovely log burner which we didn't really need to use as the Granary was not cold at all, but we did as it was nice to have a roaring fire in the evenings. We would definitely stay again in the future and recommend to anybody wanting a peaceful break in Cornwall.
