This wonderful semi-detached, barn conversion dates back to the 1840’s but has been thoughtfully renovated boasting an inviting interior completed by three well-appointed bedrooms, shared garden with breath-taking views over the surrounding countryside and a fabulous location in Bodmin Moor yet within driving distance of Cornwall’s stunning coastline; the perfect choice for families or friends looking to explore with two of their beloved canine companions. After a full day of exploring the tranquillity of the countryside or Cornwall’s endless attractions, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home where the gentle warmth of the woodburning stove greets you. Unwin in front of it in the sitting room and flick on the TV while the designated chef of the groups makes themselves at home in the fully-equipped kitchen. Sample their culinary creations around the dining table or head out to the picnic table on the communal lawn to enjoy dinner with an unbeatable backdrop of the Cornish countryside. When the sun disappears behind the rolling fields, travel to the first floor to wash off the day before sloping off to sleep in either the king-size, twin (zip/link) or single bedroom. Upton Cross is a quaint Cornish village on the outskirts of Bodmin Moor that was once home to miners but is now a peaceful refuge. The Cheesewrings, Sharp Tor, the engine houses at Minions, Kitt Hill, and Caradon Hill are just a few of the many breathtaking sights that can be reached from this location on Bodmin Moor. There is a Post Office and a classic bar in the village that dates back to the 17th century. The pounding waves of the north shore and the calm waters and fishing communities of the south are both easily accessible. Six miles away, at Siblyback Lake, anglers and water sport enthusiasts may cool down, while nearby rivers provide salmon and trout fishing. The outdoor theatre at Upton Cross features a wide range of performances throughout the year. A quaint Cornish town, perfect for a relaxing holiday.

A perfect location to explore the stunning Bodmin Moors countryside. The property was very clean, comfortable and well maintained. Thank you so much to Becca who was very helpful and informative of the surrounding area.

Becca the owner was very warm and welcoming and accommodated all our needs. The cream tea awaiting us on arrival was such a lovely touch. The cottage was spotlessly clean, beds were very comfortable, there is plenty of living space in the cosy lounge and large kitchen/dining room and the setting is beautiful. We would have made more use of the guests’ garden area had the weather permitted as the views from there were stunning across fields and The Valley beyond. A very peaceful and relaxing holiday, we would gladly return.

The owner was very pleasant and helpful and made our stay warm and welcoming. The gift bag on arrival for our pet and our present on arrival was a lovely touch, too! After a day of exploring whatever Cornwall had to offer, sitting and relaxing by the wood burning fire was so comforting. We will be recommending Henwood Barns to our friends and family.
