The Old Sawmill is a luxuriously appointed warm and cosy detached cottage within the tranquil location of a little Cornish village, tucked away off the beaten track, not suitable for long wheelbase vehicles due to access restrictions. Formerly a working sawmill dating back to the 1800s, this lovely two double bedroom property features oak flooring and slate tiles. There is a modern contemporary wood burner in the living room, exposed beams with vaulted ceiling and great natural lighting.
Offering a comfortable three-seater sofa and two armchairs, one of which is a wingback chair, along with a dining table and four chairs, and wooden blinds throughout. The bedrooms enjoy Egyptian cotton bed linen and there are big fluffy towels, and hypo allergenic duvets. An initial supply of logs for the wood burner is included, and a super welcome pack all goes to offer a spot of luxury to guests.
The ground floor bedroom has a zip and link king size bed which can be made into two single beds and has an en-suite shower room, whilst the upstairs bedroom has a king size bed with a double shower in the bathroom just across the hall. Mattresses are hand tailored in the UK and offer full body kinetic support with 2000 pocket springs. The cottage is situated in a quiet location, in a tiny village, but with good access onto the A38 and A390 making the cottage perfect for exploring the wider region of Cornwall. The friendly owners live opposite, on-site.
All in all a lovely cottage for quiet couples and families looking for a little hideaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Carnglaze Caverns 10 minutes away, Eden Project 25 minutes and Bodmin Moor 15 minutes away. Looe and Polperro fishing villages and nearest beach is 25 minutes away. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Just returned from a wonderful week at the Sawmill. The house is beautifully appointed, with everything you could want. Also has the added bonus of staying cool when the temperature soared. Jamie & Louise provide a wonderful welcome basket with homemade bread which we all loved. ( Thank you). Would love to return in the future.

We had the most magical week in Cornwall topped off by the most amazing cottage “the old saw mill". The cottage is perfectly situated to visit all of Cornwall’s attractions. Beaches within 15 minutes, Eden and Lost gardens very close, spectacular Looe, Polzeath and Padstow 30 minutes its a perfect base. The cottage is clinically spotless, a lovely welcome basket with baked bread and tea cakes made by the owners Jamie and Louise, and is decorated in such a sympathetic typically Cornish decor. The beds and sofas are very comfortable, topped off by a huge log burner for those colder days and nights. The bathroom showers are powerful and roomy., and the well equipped kitchen has everything you need, and more for a more self catering experiences. There is a lovely garden with BBQ and seating area to dine al fresco when the weather permits. Jamie and Louise we found friendly and tentative to any questions or queries, and made us feel welcome from the day of arrival. Nothing was too much trouble and it was lovely to chat with them about their transition to Cornish life and, it’s evident to see that they love what they do are care deeply about ensuring their guests have a pleasant and enjoyable stay. We can’t thank them enough, my family (including young children) had an amazing holiday and we can’t wait to return in the future. Don’t hesitate, if your considering a trip to Cornwall you won’t be at all disappointed in the beautiful cottage. Thank you

Wonderful Self Catering experience in the converted Sawmills. Nice welcoming basket of fresh loaf of bread, a jug of milk, biscuits, tea bags and coffee.... Spotlessly clean, and good furniture, bed, ensuite, bed linen and kitchen facilities. Note toiletries are not provided but not a problem. There is a lovely private garden. The hosts James and Louise are great who live in a separate property next door. Excellent communications from Jamie and Louise before our stay, with directions and recommendations. Very quiet country location but near main roads to visit Cornwall's numerous attractions, on the coasts, and inland. Highly recommend. We would love go back to Sawmills.
