This charming, dog-friendly, semi-detached Cornish holiday cottage has a homely feel and lies in the historic mining village of St Cleer, on the edge of Bodmin Moor. There are two living rooms, one with a multi-fuel burner, and two sitting-out areas, one to the rear and one to the front of the cottage. The village of St Cleer has a church, pub and convenience store, and the market town of Liskeard is a short drive away. With walks from the door, the cottage is ideally situated to explore the many delights of Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best, including the famous tors and waterfalls. Also nearby are the Eden Project and Lanhydrock House (National Trust). Within easy reach is the historic naval port and city of Plymouth, the coastal villages of Looe and Polperro and the quaint harbour town of Fowey. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay over New Year in Trecarne Cottage with our two dogs. It is located in a small village with lots of access to local walks as well as main roads to the local area and beyond. The cottage is lovely and has a cosy feel to it. We appreciated the fire being set up and ready to go when we arrived on a cold December afternoon! Everything we needed was provided and the host rang before we arrived to confirm parking and give advice on good places to visit. If you visit in winter I would recommend taking slippers and be aware it is located on a hill which does get icy. We are already looking into going back later in the year.

The cottage is in a lovely quiet location, although there are houses all around, it was peaceful. It had all we needed in the kitchen to make meals. The bedrooms are a great size and for a family of three and a dog we had plenty of space. The only thing we didnt enjoy was the furniture in the lounge areas, we werent entirely comfortable relaxing in the evenings as the seats werent to our liking but I think thats more personal preference. The courtyard out the back was a great addition especially for the dog and enjoying a little bit of sunshine.

Great location for a walking holiday. Lots of historic sites nearby, some within walking distance. Cottage is in heart of village of Tremar. Lovely to sit on front bench and watch village life. Kitchen very small but all necessary utensils/toaster/oven/microwave/kettle provided.Good hourly bus service to Liskeard with connections to Looe. Bus stop approx 100 meters from house.Cottage is sited 90 degrees to road with a small front garden and a small back yard (neighbours have access rights through back yard). Ideal for our two small dogs as both front and back are gated and enclosed.Neighbours very friendly.Lack of Wi-Fi could be a problem for some as no smart TV channels/iplayer or streaming but there is a DVD player and a selection of DVDs.
