Glanville House is a characterful property with stunning harbour views and a prime location in Mevagissey, Cornwall. Guests appreciate the property's warmth, well-equipped kitchen, and spaciousness. While the house's charm and setting are highly praised, some guests note that comfort and maintenance issues need addressing.
The property generally appears clean, but several guests have noted areas that require deeper cleaning, such as under beds and sofas, and issues with kitchen cleanliness. However, the majority of guests did not raise cleanliness as a major concern.
The location is consistently praised for its proximity to the harbour, restaurants, and bars, with guests loving the central position and the convenience it offers for exploring Mevagissey.
Comfort receives mixed reviews, with several guests finding the beds uncomfortable and in need of replacement. However, some guests found the beds comfy and the house warm, indicating that experiences vary.
Facilities are generally good, but maintenance issues such as broken patio doors, a non-functional dishwasher, and a lack of certain kitchen utensils have been highlighted. The property is well-equipped but would benefit from attention to these details.

A coastal retreat with spellbinding sea views positioned on the harbour front in the charismatic village of Mevagissey. Glanville House offers beautifully presented accommodation arranged over three floors. From the moment you step through the door into the open plan kitchen/dining room with its handmade kitchen the quality of craftsmanship is apparent. The elegant sitting room beside it houses beautiful antiques, artwork and unusual artefacts. The four bedrooms are split over the two upper floors with two double and two twin rooms plus a bathroom and a shower room. French windows open from the sitting room to the beautiful enclosed terrace which is an oasis of calm offering a high degree of privacy. Just a few moments walk will take you to the centre of this bustling fishing village where there are an overabundance of cafes, old inns, gift and curio shops as well as family friendly and fine dining restaurants. What could be more fun than a fishing trip departing from the harbour in the summer months then cooking up the catch that evening or perhaps hopping on a ferry for lunch across the bay in the fabulous waterfront town of Fowey. The nearest sandy beaches are at Penstreath just outside the village and Pentewan, just over two miles by car or less on the coast path, both offering a fun day out whatever the weather. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the infamous Eden Project are both within 10 miles and well worth a visit during you stay. The perfect venue for families and groups, Glanville House offers high quality accommodation in a glorious coastal setting.
The perfect Cornish fishing village, with winding cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, whilst just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey also runs daily between Easter and September. Spend some time at the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown (7 miles) with its shipwreck museum, or among the tropical biomes of the world-famous Eden Project (11 miles). The stunning coastline, fabulous beaches and renowned gardens of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula are a short drive down the coast while Truro, with its shops, restaurants, theatre and cathedral can be reached by car in half an hour.
