Perfect for a couple wanting to get away from it all but still be close to many attractions, Barn Acre cottage is surrounded by relaxing country views, also you can see and wave at the historic Lappa Valley steam railway train that runs through the bottom of the Barn Acre garden.
St Newlyn East village has a convenience store for everyday needs, butchers, hairdressers, post office, church. You will also find The Pheasant Inn offering locally sourced home cooked food and a good selection of local ales. The cottage features an open plan kitchen and dining area with a warm country lounge. At the end of the cottage is a warm and cosy beamed bedroom guaranteed to give you a good nights sleep after a day on the beach or walking the stunning South West Coastal Path. Whilst first impressions of the cottage looked good after looking around I noticed several things to do with the cleanliness, firstly the kettle was not clean it had marks down the outer glass and water left in the kettle with dust on the top(don't know how long it had been there so I went and brought my own kettle from the town ), went to use the oven trays they were greasy, the seal of the washing machine had black mould over it and on the outer what looked like liquid spillage marks all down it, the mixer tap in the kitchen was loose(the owner did say a plumber was coming to fix it but didn't turn up so made using the tap awkward and unsafe especially if using the hot water) unidentifiable green sticky mark on kitchen worktop and also on bedroom floor, dead slug trapped in living room window and dirty marks over blind, black drawer unit in bedroom dusty and also bedside lamp, the front door was not easy to shut/open/lock not good in an emergency . At the end of the day I paid good money to stay here but my stay was not as good as I expected, this is a good product with great decor but just lacks general cleanliness

Lovely village. Some local roads very narrow. Postcode very accurate but it would have been useful to know the cottage was down a side road which wasn't mentioned.
