About this property

Nestled on the outskirts of Newquay, Gannel Hideaway is a stylish, ground-floor studio apartment in a well-located spot for exploring the best of Cornwall. This open-plan layout suits a romantic getaway for two, with a terrace overlooking the beautiful countryside and Gannel Estuary, as well as easy access to local amenities and attractions. Off-road parking with space for one car ensures easy arrival before getting settled in at your coastal escape. Gentle blue and grey hues create a relaxing setting in the studio-style layout, which has been thoughtfully-designed with contemporary features and smart furnishings. Stock up the cupboards and fridge/freezer in the kitchen area with your self-catering essentials to rustle up basic meals using the two-ring hob and microwave. Turn on the wall-mounted TV and sink into the plush sofa for evening entertainment after an adventure-filled day, whilst the glass dining table is a romantic spot to toast to your retreat! In the evenings, why not watch the sun set over the estuary at the terrace? It's a lovely, quiet retreat to escape to after touring this popular seaside location. Although compact, the separate shower room offers a spacious walk-in shower to wash the day away, before climbing under the sheets of the double bed ready for a new day. Gannel Hideaway is a great location for outdoorsy couples; glimpse the town's seafaring past along the estuary which you can explore by foot, bike, canoe, paddle board or kayak! The centre of Newquay is a short journey away and a paradise for surfers or those seeking a chance to unwind on sandy beaches, whether that's along the dunes and cliffs of Fistral Beach, or Great Western Beach with plenty of nearby restaurants. Test your swing at Newqay's Golf Club, get close up with exotic species in the town's aquarium or embark on the South West Coast Path along picture-perfect coastlines to take refuge along hidden bays and more beaches. By rail or car, Gannel Hideaway is ideal for touring around Cornwall, with the idyllic Holywell Bay and Perranporth in the south, and the bustling town of Padstow in the north; bring your walking boots to follow the path up to Pentire Point or pack your towels to soak up the sun on one of many sandy sanctuaries, including Harbour Cove and Rock Beach. Truro is another must-see to discover fascinating local history at Royal Cornwall Museum, picnic in the pretty Victoria Gardens and marvel at the Victorian Truro Cathedral. Secure your stay at Gannel Hideaway for a romantic escape to Cornwall's coast.

Newquay is the UK's surf capital, with three major beaches, the National Surf Centre, and an inexhaustible supply of rolling waves, making it a watersports haven. With its zoo, sea life centre, and diverse array of restaurants and pubs, the town promises a memorable vacation. The South West Coast Path runs in both directions along a magnificent coastline with towering cliffs, secret bays, and additional beaches for avid walkers. Newquay is the ideal travelling base to see the best of Cornwall.

The main problem we had was when we wanted to chill out sometimes at 7 o’clock at night the owner was drilling , and sawing in his garden building something which was very annoying when we was trying to relax !

I would of appreciated a mirror near a plug so I could do my hair and make up. The view was gorgeous, and the location was perfect.

The owners were friendly and helpful. Literally 10 mins walk to fistral beach and about 10/15 mins walk straight to the centre of newquay. If you are lucky to have the hot weather we had, the holiday home does get hot, but the owner explained this and a fan is supplied which made the evening comfortable. I would stay here again for sure
